Mornin' @BigSm0 :coffee:. Question about white light in general. What kind of eye protection is required? Which would be more appropriate, lenses for l.e.d.s or for hps/metal halide? Only have two of these gems and they're already small and bloodshot:jointman: Thanks for any assistance:pass:

I have several pairs of glasses for led/cob and I use my "shade [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG]" welding glasses most.

Ah, that's not secret in my opinion. As a buyer I have right to know what I'm buying. Or how you USA folks says this...
We know where buy COBs, heatsinks, drivers, which are better, which are not... These lamps are for ones who don't know how to wire them or don't have time for that. And that's okay. They're great.
Tell that to GM or Ford and see what they tell you .

I would recommend method 7 glasses for hps. It's more about the color I believe. I use my LED method 7's and everything looks green. If I look at a blurple light it looks white. Hope you are enjoying them light!

Just got my package this afternoon. These things are solid and sexy! Not loving the fact that I still have another month or so before my current grow's finished and I can start some new ladies under 'em.

Just to make sure I have the right idea - best practice seems to be to start them at 30" or so over the plants and see how things go from there, yeah?

I too just got my lights recently, a big big thanks to BigSm0 and was wondering the same thing. I'm planning to grow 3 think bigs in a 2x4 under 3 autocobs. I'm wondering if 3 is maybe a little ambitious in that space but time will tell. I plan on using Tang's feeding schedule using the AN line. But speaking of time... it's going to have to wait as I'm going to be changing out a furnace and ac and a few other projects that will have people poking around my place for a while!!! Damn!!!! Anyways I just wanted to say how great BigSm0's customer service was. I tried purchasing on 4/20 and I guess we're in different time zones because when I tried to use the promo code it had expired. He provided me with another code, and then when we got to the hurdle of me ordering from outside the US he did all the leg work for me and was very quick to respond to my questions and emails. Can't wait to get things underway.

First, I have to say congrats on your purchase! These lights are the bees knees :headbang:

If you are running them with reflectors, I would recommend starting at least 30' away if not 36" and working from there. I was at 26" or so for one day and added the reflectors the second day. They made a difference that's for sure. The autocobs are killilng it compared to the plants under the 600w hps in my tent.

After 10 days and this plant is loving the lights.
Currently at 28" from the canopy although the growth rate the last 2 days has me needing to raise it each day to keep it at 28"!

I am running 4 of them to cover 4x2 space in my tent. Could space them out a little more, the goal is to grow one plant per light. I think 4x2 with 4 would autocobs is ideal so 3 autocobs with 3 plants in a 2x4 sounds good to me! Grow some monsters:thumbsup:

I'm sure it's been discussed, but what is everyone using for eye protection with these? I don't have a lot to spend, but I'm starting to notice some eye strain with my current LEDs, and I'm sure it's not gonna be any easier on my eyes once I get these autocobs fired up next grow. Recommendations for reasonably priced glasses?

Sorry guys I didn't notice the messages. AntiFA I would think any sun glasses now would help but method 7 glasses seem to be the brand of choice. Maybe even amazon. The red and blue are much tougher on the eyes. I ran these myself before cobs.

Currently my new veg plants are at 26" and doing well. The tallest one started curling her leaves as she was down to 20". I slightly raised it and seemed to flatten out. Last run I stayed lower without stress so I really think a lot has to do with strain.

@R_HIDIA This is the way it's supposed to work. I know it's not to common these days so I'm glad things went as smooth as possible. I appreciate the kind words. Hopefully you can make time to fill us in on the progress once you get rolling. Good luck on the projects too.

I have the Method 7 for led but for reasonably priced these ones got good reviews. Only $20 and some dude said they were better than his M7's
