A plant doesn't really care whether it's inside or outside.
It's likely that mimicking the sun's spectrum would cost too much, and is probably the reason it's not common.
Plants have had billions of years to perfect using the sun's energy.
LED makers have had a few decades to figure out what plants like, and at on time thought it was blurple.
Now they think it's QBs and COBs.
What will they think in 10 years? Probably something different.
I think the sun's spectrum is what plants like, more than these LED spectra that are just crude approximations to the sun.
I know it’s a bit late for a reply but this has come up once before. I do label the different spectrums. If they were bought at different times there is a chance you may have gotten the newer version which I had changed over when they were released. Not a significant difference and they both grow extremely well. The best way to differentiate between the closer color spectrums is by shining the cob on a piece of white paper. Do it a about a foot away with no other lights on. It will be very easy to see. The last grower that thought they were different I had him switch his two cobs with each other. He found it was the shadow and other lighting to cause the difference in the overall appearance.Heya all, sorry if this is the wrong spot f9r this question....
Is there a way to identify which autocob i have, which spectrum the bulbs are? I had ordered a 2 pack, thought they were both the same 3500k, but i dont think they are the same.
Before i freak myself out, are there any markings i can look for to identify which autocob i have?
Tia for any help.

It is possible one may have gotten mixed up. So many spectrums. Thankfully the reddish one went to a flower room. The 2700 and 3000k rock and create rocks. Its all good brother!
It was pretty noticeably different lol. I actually noticed it first on my computer editing pics, the color/temp was vastly different between the 2 lights.
I sold the reddish one to a growbuddy for his flower room and hes luvin it!
I still rock the other one tho, ive actually got my first hydro attempt ever under the autocob currently.
Thanks for the response yo and glad youre back!

Its cool to get to talk to vendors and just hang out, ask questions, compare notes.

I know. Last I checked there was over 10k messages on the Cobshop section. I don’t even see my own Grow thread. I’m going to ask @Mossy or @Son of Hobbes if they can assist on recovering the most valuable information posted on this forum lol.anyone know what happened to the rest of the cob sections documenting grow journals? i was going through the pages before the site update but cant find anything else now..
@BigSm0 will you be having a black friday sale this year? i upgraded faster than expected and looking to pick up a 2pack (3500k) to finish my tent set up. current grow wont be done until sept-oct so november fits right on schedule for a light upgrade

As far as the sale goes I will be doing one on Black Friday. I’m also planning on doing a sale much sooner as a thank you to the loyal afn members. I’m trying to get things going for Monday and will keep it active for 7 days. Hopefully that works for you!
