Quick question - How high up do you set up your net? I've never scrogged before but wanted to try it. I bought a net that's 5' x 15' but my tent I want to try it in is only 3' x 3'... would I just cut it or leave the extra netting hanging off to side or something?

Hi RicanBlazer:
I just make a pvc pipe frame the size I want and stretch the webbing as I attach it with zip ties. Then I trim the rest of the netting off. It is already awkward enough without shit hanging off of it.

I let the plants determine the height. After topping when they are ready for LST is when and where I set the net. SCROG is just a prolonged form of LST. It also serves the function of holding my plants up in this rockwool block grow. The Hugo blocks do not weigh very much in the morning (lights on) before the fertigation starts and it would be easy for them to tip over. It is also good to have enough space to work underneath the net when it is time to defoliate. Reaching the back plants is difficult. If I could have fit it in the space I have available I would have made my grow room 3' x 8' instead of 4' x 6' but it just was not an option.

Check the tape. It’s still set to 33 inches from yesterday, so with three inches for the tape measure, that’s 36 inches to the top of the tape. The top looks to be a few inches taller than the tape. That’s just nuts!!

Oh yeah, we got flowers too. Here’s her sister from yesterday.

Ya I tried it really quick and didn't like how it looked/fit lol. May have to retry and cut netting off. Do you stick individual branches through each square slot?

How you tuck the plant under the net depends on your goal. For a support system just move the colas to the nearest hole and you're done. To SCROG you keep tucking well into flower and stretch is over then let the flowers grow evenly up, only carefully tucking one that gets too much taller than the others. Remember the idea of a SCROG is to keep the canopy even so all colas get the same amount of light.

I will have to try that sometime then, thank you!
For now I'm Doing another method I like. One which is probably already in play but I'm happy I thought about it randomly one night. In my fabric pot I've been using the Velcro strips. I cut them to whatever length needed and secure each branch to the inside or outside of the pot since the Velcro attaches right to it. Also use these to tie fan leaves together. It's simple and you can detach and attach the strips as needed. You can kind of "scrog" if you use multiple strips and run them across branches

Completely know what you are saying! there isn't much time for a plant to do its thing in veg. Good luck and you're a winner no matter what. You get to see top growers do their thing and I know if you watch your plant and do what you know is right your gonna have a good grow. They are just like your photo's only faster!. :bighug:back at you :shooty:
Remeber doing nothing is as much as a choice as doing something!
Thank you a lot again bro! I´m so happy I found this forum and that I´m allowed to grow with you all together, never had so much fun in a forum and felt so welcome! :thanks:
