Grow Mediums Cloudy water. Pathogen or something else?

Thanks guys! I appreciate the responses. Helps me keep thinking about stuff I may have missed. I know I'll get this figured out with your help.

I did notice that I was getting very faint light bleed through in my res so I'll be blacking that out today.

Maybe try to limit adding the 'organic' and otherwise easily metabolized stuff. Adding the amino acids, kelp and yucca to your reservoir may just contribute further to supporting microbial growth/fermentation.

But generally environmental microbial contamination of nute reservoirs (which is surely universal) doesn't adversely affect the plants. In fact, many or most growers add diverse presumed 'beneficial' microorganisms.

Air stones were from the last grow but were scrubbed in a mild bleach solution and well rinsed.

The hydroton is new but was soaked and rinsed.

Using Mega Crop 2 part With a bit of Epsom salt and Hydroguard currently but will be adding liquid humic, kelp, amino acid, omina, silica and yucca next week. Modeling my feed schedule after yours.

If I were a betting man - I am on occasion. The air stones are the source of your problem. Bake them in a 190°F oven for two hours or buy new ones. The other thing I noticed is the aluminum foil over the top-off tank. if the solution can come in contact with that it will poison your plants. You must not have any aluminum, copper, brass or any ferris metals in contact with the nutrient solution anywhere in the system.

The lid has tape on the outside to block the light , but doesn't come in contact with the water at all. No other metal in the system with the exception of the chiller.
I will bake those stones tonight and order a couple of extras to have on hand.

Well I never got around to baking the stones yet but my res miraculously cleared and left a brown bathtub ring which I wiped out. I'll get em taken care of but hopefully I won't have any more issues. :smoking:

Hey MoG, as an aside, I'm following your MC 2 part schedule with the Raw supplements added. Any tips on mixing?

Part A,
mix well
Epsom salt, (B-vitamin), K,
mix well
Cal-mag
Part B
Mix well
Kelp, Humic Acid, Aminos and any other beneficials.
Mix well
PH
Wait 1 hour and check the PH again.
