Well it's been half a decade since I've grown anything, so this may be a bumpy ride. I've dipped my toes in DWC before but not Ebb n Flow, so this will be a learning experience. I don't have much experience with photoperiods or cloning, so that will also be fun.

We're still in the process of putting everything together and testing it out but here's a rundown of our setup:

Veg:
  • 4'x4' tent
  • MarsHydro TS2000, ~320w
  • DWC in 5 gallon buckets for our mothers
  • 2x4 table for seedlings/clones
  • 3'x2' Cement mixing tray
  • Humidity dome for clones/seedlings
  • Medium is rockwool to start, and expanded clay when we get in the buckets
  • 4" Inline fan and filter
  • 6" clip on fans
full

Flower:
  • 4'x8' tent
  • 1 PLC ~340w light, and about 700w of DIY Cree Cobs, mostly 3000-3500k
  • Ebb n Flow SOG for our clones
  • 2 3'x3' Flood trays on a 2"x4" frame
  • 2 27 gallon reservoirs
  • Medium is expanded clay and 6" net pots, and expanded clay in our tables
  • Dehumidifier under the table if we need it
  • 8" inline fan and filter
  • 6" clip on fans
full

Height is limited here, a maximum of 2 foot high plants to maintain 12 inches from the lights with reflectors removed. The plan is 50 clones SOG in total here.

We'll be using RO water with General Hydroponics Flora series: Grow, Bloom, Micro, and Calimagic, with some hydroguard for healthy roots. Probably will stick to the feeding chart for this grow until we have the hang of things.

Our strain will be SoFem Cloud Candy acquired from GreenGrassSeeds

Week 1(ish)

So we started by soaking our 1.5" rockwool starters in 5.5ph water overnight while soaking our seeds overnight as well. A couple days later we had sprouts.

Day 1:
Above soil

We went ahead and transferred the best 2 into the 4" rockwool cubes the next day, and gave the little one a couple more days before giving her the axe. Cubes were presoaked in a 600ppm solution.

Day 5

We've been letting the rockwool dry out, so they were fed another 600PPM solution on Day 7. Today we're at day 8 above soil.

Day 8

We may be seeing some curling from heat starting. Temps range from 80°F to 90°F. Fan is blowing directly on them and our light is dimmed to 50% during the day.

Probably be looking to top them this next week, and transplant them into our DWC buckets.

Week 2

We started the week by topping them on Day 9, after that I noticed some brown spots on the bottom leaves that progressed a bit to look more like a CaMg deficiency at first glance. I'm assuming it was a pH problem, I recalibrated my meter but was still reading 5.8pH, I checked with the droplets and it looks more like 5 pH, so we increased it to 6.3pH on my meter, or what looks like a solid yellow 6pH with the droplets. Ordered new meter. Also doubled up on the CaliMagic just in case.

DWC water is at 650PPM still in the "early veg" portion of the feed chart. If everything smooths out, we may bump up the feeding this next week.

Week 3

A pretty boring week. Once the roots hit the water we increased feeding to 950ppm, "late veg" on the chart with double calmag. PH swung up during the week to 6.4, but it seems to be holding steady around 6.0 now. PPMs dropped to 850 by day 19, topped the buckets off with more 950ppm water. Heat has been an issue so we shelved the TS2000 and stole a couple of the mars to cree conversion lights for the veg tent, 4000k.

Week 4

PPM dropped during the start of the week to 750 for both CC#1 and CC#2. Fed with 950ppm. Seeing some clawing on CC#2 this week so the next batch was mixed up with 3/4 strength Micro(5-0-1), normal strength calimagic (from double), full strength everything else. Now the feed water is around 750ppm. PH drops a little to as low as 5.4 on CC#2 in the middle of the week, raised it back up to 6.0 and they're looking steady around that now. Raised the lights up a little, we'll see where the ppm goes this next week.

Day 25

Defoliated both CC#1 and CC#2, mostly large fans near the middle of the plant, removed 6-10 fan leaves each plant.

Next week or the week after we will probably look to chops some clones off. We need at least 25 rooted clones for a 4x4' section of the flower tent.

Week 5

A fun filled week. The ladies were getting a little too bushy to manage, so we went ahead and took our clones. Yesterday we took 20 from each cloud candy, 40 in total. Today we moved CC#1 and CC#2 to the closet to flower.

Week 2 flowering

Not much going on with our ladies this week. Cleaned out the bottom third growth on our mothers and employed some fan tucking at the top. PPMs have been dropping some but there's still a little clawing so I've just been bringing ppms back to 750. We'll probably defoliate in a few days here and then leave them alone to flower.

Cloud Candy Clones

Lets not forget the clones. At day 14 since cut we had lovely roots on about half of them, with 34/40 showing roots in total. Picked the best 24 roots and into the flood table they go. Lighting is on 18/6 now.

Quick little update for the beginning of week 3 in flowering. Final defol done on the Cloud Candy mothers. Looks like the stretch finally stopped and flowering started. We're on early bloom nutes now, 750ppm.

End of week 3 flowering for our 2 mothers. Maintaining 750ppm still. Cloud Candy #1 continued to stretch, up to 44". She was nearly touching the lights so 3 of her tops were supercropped yesterday bringing the canopy down to closer to 3 feet.

Cloud Candy Clones were a little slow this week. We had some droopiness, but they seem to have perked back up a bit since a res change yesterday. The expanded clay has been raising the pH in the reservoir and I've been dumping too much pH down in there we think. Some of the CC#2 clones aren't doing much compared to the rest.
