Grow Room Clone Tree Experiment

Well, my first try didn't work out. I won't be able to make my second try until the end of June. I watched a few YouTube videos and there's a simpler method that promises better results. I think it's called the whip method.

I had two clones to source scions from and now have just one. It was cut back to a couple of small branches when I made my second, desperate attempt. I'll be putting it and the rootstock into large pots sometime this week and waiting for both plants to get to a larger size.

The Golden Tiger 3rd version mother won't be ready to donate a scion for another month as well.

Thanks @throwstuffatme I think I could probably use any help I can get. The clone I was sourcing is already bigger than it was before I chopped it up for the first attempt. And both plants are in bigger pots. So I think next time will go better. But I'm going to have to add another small tent or closet because I think the rootstock has to be larger than I thought I could get away with.

Have u tried or considered using plumbers tape? When I attempt to graft, I will be using it. Also, I would keep the fresh grafted part misted and moist since it will be relying on its leaves to absorb moisture instead of its roots till they are developed.

After my long trip, I had one casualty - my clone rootstock. He's not technically dead, but I think I lost most of the branches.

I have also learned that a rootstock should probably be in a larger pot, which is something I'd have to make room for.

Sorry you lost her @Rasterman, currently have one double grape about to hit the dirt. 2 recently purchased seeds failed, but ya know this genetics! little girl is raring to get a go :d5:such power from tiny seeds..
I might be trying it again in a few months - this time with a leftover autoflower plant. Thanks for the sympathy!
