I bought one Jack Herer seed to try. I was planning on cloning it but never got around to it. It turned out to be a top five lifetime experience for me, which fills me with regret because I will never be able to grow that exact plant again. So I decided to do something I've been wanting to try.
I'm going to try to create a clone tree. I have some Afghan Mix landrace seeds from RealSeeds that I suspect aren't that special in the smoke department.
I grew one out once just to see its growth habit though, then tossed it because I needed the space. It's sturdy and low - a perfect Afghan from a cultivation and training perspective. It's a tough plant that will make a great 8-node manifold.
Once the manifold is created I'm going to start grafting keeper clones onto it. It'll be months before I can try the first graft but will occasionally make entries showing how it's doing because it's a beautiful plant.
I put two seeds in a four-inch pot, watered it and covered it with a plastic baggy. No soaking. Whichever seed I like the most will be my new rootstock.
It doesn't look that hard. https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-how-to-graft-cannabis-and-grow-multiple-strains-on-1-plant-n872
