Chinese Sativa? ( Yunnan - borders Laos and Myanmar)

Just came back from a little trip through China and in the southwest I scored some really nice clear head-high herb. I could smoke it all day long and rest happy and functional and buzzed. Taste was not anything special as it wasnt properly cured. It was seeded and grew at about 2000m altitude.

though much has changed and they had a real crackdown on cannabis trade in this region. Resulting in the death many nice people who sold the wild weed they chopped in the mountains just to get by ( lots of grannys). over 30g brings the death sentence in China.

Sadly I don´t have any Pictures as my friends camera was stolen in a bus robbery.

I brought back a good 150 seeds to play with though!

Does anyone have experience with Sativas from this Area?
Maybe some autoflowering traits that could be fortified?

How long did they flower? which corner of vietnam? north or south? What was the taste like when grown and cured properly?

The Sativa I had in Yunnan grew above 2000m. Correct me if i am wrong: I am assuming that at this altitude flowering time should not be that long and maybe have a flowering time acceptable for european summers.

Will use this thread as an insignificant "Test"-Grow with one plant outdoors and see how it goes.

I chose one of the biggest with lots of brown spots. I cracked some of them to see if they are viable and it seems that they are.
 
The seed has already germed (less than 24h!) and is in soil now. I am really excited to see how this one goes!
 
One time there was this bag of bird food with strange Chinese seeds. Very small and solid black (usually they are either huge white seeds or just regular size spotted seeds). These black ones would fall on the ground and germinate overnight. They grew very quickly. By the third node they had seven thin leaflets, and you could smell them from 10 meters away outside.

At the end they barely got to flower, and had to be continuously trimmed to keep them short, but weren't bad. Tasted like black pepper; quite spicy.

That's all I know of Chinese seeds.

I did not have any black seeds just the normal sprinkled ones.
The fast germination seems to be similar.

How long did you flower them? Did you take Pictures? Any Idea from which Chinese region they originated?

The seedling has already developed.

The seeds were being used outside as bird feed. Most of the bird seed mixes here have a variety of hemp seeds from China. They can't be sold for human consumption because they don't test them for anything. So anyway, they fall on the ground and sprout. They didn't flower long because I'm at about 52 degrees north, and they got frosted much too early.

That's why I like autoflowers, they always finish. One great thing about autos is that you can take tropical strains from the equator and in two generations have their descendents finishing outside anywhere.

Sorry I don't have pictures, this was a distant memory, and well before I had a digital camera. I still have bird seeds sprout in the garden now, but they are usually scentless, unbranched giants.
