New Grower Cheap Ghetto Build - 2nd Grow (1st was a failure)

@Frankthetank I tied her top shoot after feeding her. It's not yet 90degrees horizontal, maybe tomorrow I'll bend her more. Tucked other leaves to expose bud sites also.

@Frankthetank Hey bro I need some help. She's outgrowing her pot now and I can see the roots growing on top of the soil and at the base of the stem. She's doing fine and all. But my main problem are the roots growing at the bottom of the pot because for the 1st time ever since she sprouted, I lifted the pot and saw roots growing at the bottom.I have a catch basin at the bottom and it ALWAYS had water runoff. So the roots were sitting on the runoff.. It's not rotting though, doesn't have smell. It's also not slimy to touch. It feels like wet thread, idk if that helps. hehe Anyway, my main question is can I simply cut the roots with scissors? Or should I just let it air prune? I'm just afraid that if it has some rot forming, it might climb up to the soil. PS: the bottom of my pot has layers of rocks.

What up bro! You can just cut the roots that are growing out of the pot. It wont hurt a thing. That lst diagram you posted looks like it should have been started around week one or so. And it definitely looks/sounds like you've got a photo period seed some how. You should be half way done by now. Autos have a set lifespan so regaurdless, it should be on the 2nd half of life.. I have 4 that were started the same week as yours. They've been flowering for weeks and all showed sex by day 17. Try flipping your light schedule to 12/12 for a week and see if that triggers it flower. She looks super healthy. I bet she flowers with 12/12.

@Prophetiko : Hey bro, thanks for that! Yes the guide said it should be done when it's still a seedling. That's what I did on my 1st grow and the leaves would touch the soil, didn't want that to happen again.

I know right?? It should be showing some flowers now. So sad. Wouldn't buy from them again. But I'm not yet giving up on her though because this is my last seed ffs! I really hope she's a SHE in the 1st place and I hope she's an autoflower. I have read also that I should try to give her 24hrs of darkness. It should trigger the hormones, can't really explain it though.

@Prophetiko is correct....just prune them with CLEAN scissors....and as for the roots on top of the soil...just add a little more soil to the top, if you can.

Also....so your saying she has not showed sex yet??? Check all over the plant for little white hairs....or the start of little pollen sacks. Was this a feminized seed?

I'm doing well, my friend!Things are going well in my grow....I've currently got three plants drying right now, so fresh cannabis is right around the corner!!! I think your plant is doing fine. I've had some sativa's take a little longer to kick into flower...and in turn, take a little longer to finish. I think you'll probably be seeing pistils in the next week or so. If you don't, then we may discuss switching your light schedule....but I generally don't like to jump the gun on this type of thing. The [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] thing I think a new grower should keep in mind...is to try to resist "knee jerk reactions". We see a lot of new growers on here that diagnose a problem, so they switch a bunch of stuff around, and it negatively impacts their plant (even worse). We've all done it....I've done it, a few times.

If you want to check out something cool....check out @Ash-a-Ton hybrid hempy grow.....the roots coming out of the bottom of your pot reminded me of it.

Suggestion. Seeing the roots. Add an oil pan of sorts for an external res. Don't cut roots. Let them grow and drink. And keep them wet. If you can form a lid to cover roots. It's better for them.


But I do dig the little bucket grow interesting lol. And I also think it is a bit late for that sort of training diagram. That's more for a photo or really early start. But I personally like to start tying them just about a week younger than you started. Pull her down some more at the top. Won't hurt her a bit. Give her a day or 2 they you will see the branches going up. Then you can tie down other branches.
And do that every few days.
I could see you pulling more than your 10gs with roots like that. Looks healthy compared to your start. Good job buddy .

@Frankthetank Yea I saw your Tangie. DAAAAAAMN that looks so dense. Send some! haha congrats bro. I see, she's a sativa dominant too. I really don't mind finishing late. I got 8grams of OG Kush right now, it should last for 4months for my brother and I. Yes, that's how weak we smoke! hahaha And we smoke daily, and we get really stoned daily! It's a big plus for us. haha Sorry I'm going off the topic here and rambling, clearly stoned. Anyway... Yes! I hope she starts preflowering next week or the week after. That's the thing I want to avoid, doing a little bit of everything then in turn ruin the grow that I am happy with.

Anyway, as much as I would love to let the roots grow and feed them in an oil pan, I can't do that cause I don't have the right equipment. I'm afraid I might just ruin the grow.. And yea I'll follow your advice. I have just tied them down lower. Now the 4 ties that I have are horizontally leveled. Still waiting for more vertical growth so I can tie her down some more.

Damn 10g. That's the most abundant weed that I've ever had in my life. haha Hell, I'm even happy if I get 5grams dried!

That's cool you guys can make your weed last that long....8 grams of anything would last me....maybe, two days...three at the most! The Tangie is some outstanding smoke!!
