hi,

i finally found a forum dedicated to auto flowering! other sites not so helpful or they seem to frown upon me for doing autos?

anyways im new to growing and this is my first time. i am growing 2 AK48 and 1 Lowryder 2.

im using two 100watt cfl red for flowering and two 100 watt cfl blue for veg.

its been 54 days since seed.

the problem im having is my leaves started curling and turning certain colours. after doing some research i have found out i have burnt my plants using to much nutes. after i waited to flush the nutes i started using only water and now it seem fairly healthy but im no expert *yet* so im wondering if anyone can have a look at them. i could not take any clear pictures due to my flash light not working so hopefully later in the day ill take more clear ones.

***EDIT : THIS MY JOURNAL NOW! CHECK OUT THE PICS?!*

Hey welcome Ecode, Lots of people here who really know a lot about growing. Unfortunetly I'm not one of them. I just muddle through. I know what you mean about people ragging your ass about autos and femanised seed and never mind home breeding. Ignore them all. You bought the seeds, you bought the lights and the growing media and you pay the power bill. It is totally yours man. Enjoy. The people on this site are much less of the know it alls who seem to poo poo everything. They just give you help.

It sounds to me like maybe you should turn on all your lights for both flowering and verative growing and try and get some mid spectrum combination of the two colors of light. I don't change my color spectrum from veg to flower. I use 20 hours on and 4 off from seedling to harvest. Your own advice is good don't overfeed. I have a ppm meter and I keep the nuit rate at about 650. Some others use more. I try and keep my pH at between 6.0 and 6.5. If you don't have a pH meter it should be one of your first investments. If the pH is too high (over 7.0) you will definately not do well.

Welcome! You've found the right place for autoflowers, that's for sure. :D I agree with Nelson that you should fire up all your lights. Autos seem to love light intensity more than specific spectrums. If you've got the ventilation to handle the extra heat, you'll only help yourself by adding those 6500k bulbs to the mix. They do look burned and flushing them out was the best thing to do. I'd just hold tight right now until the plants give you a sign the they need to eat again. Overall the girls look really good, though.

hey thanks for the reply,

i was thinking of mixing up the lights but due to space issue and bad advice i just singled them out but that will change. i leave mine for 15/9 at most. i need to wait to get paid to buy any more equipment :P but im going to invest on a small grow tent enough for five plants. right now im running on the essentials but in couple weeks i should have a decent set up.

will post more pics soon!

Heres a update on my grow. looking healthy, i started using both spectrums and very quick i started seeing good improvements. one of my ak's are flowering slow but it will get there eventually ! 19/5 right now.

im just wondering when would i know that my plants are ready for harvest? also should i cut of any of my fan leaves so more light for the plants?

Just stumbled across your grow ecode, and i'm at about the exact same stage - I pruned a few fan leaves last night after reading around on here, mainly to help the lower buds a wee bit with the light...So i'll keep a keen eye on the advice you're gonna get here and follow it closely....

Bit of luck we'll both be enjoying our efforts soon...

yup just trimmed out couple fan leaves that was blocking my buds so its looking well. thanks for the help! im planning on buying more lights for a second grow as i dont think i will be getting much for these plants. smell isnt that heavy yet but im sure a week time it will get there, luckily im packed with couple of Ona gels to neutralise the smell. oh and ANCB do you have a journal? would like to see your grow!

Nah mate no journal - Not got a cam, plus i figured i'd wait and do one on the next grow - I'm doing a Low Ryder2 and a WOS Afghan Kush under a 250w and a 65w red cfl with a 45 blue cfl on a 19/5 schedule...

nice... should get some fat buds from that. got some more clear pics.

cut few fan leaves off and thats about it.
