Cannabis Chocolates

I'm confused, when I make coconut oil my weed is already decarbed as I use the herboveb to mix it all. Why would you need to decarb for another 40 mins when the concentrate (coconut) has already been decarbed? Unless ive read that wrong through my cloudy wake n bake eyes lol

I've never made chocolate but do like my butter and cookies
You make your concentrate using heated higher m.w. solvent (coconut oil), while there are many other ways of making concentrate without heating, with heating needed later if used for edibles.

I decarb (bake) the mixed chocolate because I am starting with legally-purchased concentrate (shatter, budder, etc.) made using a much lower molecular weight (m.w.) organic solvent (e.g., butane, ethanol, CO2, etc.) without heating/decarb. Similarly, pressed rosin needs to be heated/decarbed for use in edibles.

"Legally purchased" in the sense that I travel (about 25 min.) from suburban MD (still no legal non-medical sales yet) to DC Dabbers Club (excellent source of concentrates) in Washington, DC. In DC, cannabis can be legally "gifted," with many stores (and also delivery services) taking advantage of this to do "legal" sales.

You buy something generally useless/cheap (such as collectors cards, a membership, etc.) and along with this receive a "gift" of a specific cannabis product. The concentrates, weed, etc. are all illegally grown/manufactured (no regulated/taxed non-medical sales dispensaries, growers or processors yet in DC), I guess most coming from CA. So it's effectively legal for end-users to purchase and for the shops doing gifting, but still illegal for others involved in the supply chain - growing, processing, shipping. [Yes, it's crazy, but better than no "legal" purchasing].
