Well, all right Rebel. I whipped up a batch of too much coconut to bud oil last month. Tablespoon after tablespoon. Not a good idea.
Coconut oil nice to have if = strong/small doses. May be less versatile than olive oil.
Have a AKR about ready. Will make a strong batch of your olive oil for salad or by the teaspoon. Olive oil is yummy.
Yeah I've read and heard Coconut oil is more potent as THC sticks to it more than any other oil, hence the more potent... Not a technical explination but you guys know what I mean. LOL

I make all my oils in a crock pot/slow cooker. It has a heating plate on the bottom and the "pot" comes off. It has 1 -5 settings and is easy to control the temp. Not fancy, not expensive but it works.
I usually extract with coconut oil and with water. When you use coconut oil, there is a step to rinse the material with boiling water to get all the oil out. So I don't have to squeeze too much.
I have heard people talk of using a
fruit press or rigging up a vice and a jack.
The best stem oil I made was when I let them sit in coconut oil for 2 weeks then warmed them up slightly and processed the oil.
I need to get a fruit press... that would be perfect...
Stem Oil... How much stems would you need... as far as ounces not actual stem count LMAO lol
At the time, I had no pain. Minimal effect. Simply too much oil and not enough bud. And I may have overcooked.
Too many tablespoons of greenish coconut oil borders on repulsion.
That's good to know!!
Thanks Alan
I was thinking of following the guide that is in this thread, but instead substitute olive oil for coconut oil and use buds instead of trim and let it infuse with the oil for 6 hours on the low settings
Do you guys think that would be okay?
I would be keen to know myself... if you have to cook the coconut oil as long as the Olive Oil... Is there no Coconut Oil Thread?
I made a batch 2 days ago. Followed Rebels recipe pretty much to the tea but used 500ml(2cups) oil to 48 grams DP Taiga(crumbled BUD dried to 58% and glass jar cured 20+ days). Yesterday I tried one Tablespoon and was very high for about 5 hours(still had a good buzz up tp 7 hours after taken). No bad trips but it was an up and down high. I liked it very much. Will make a great camping trip high because I don't smoke anywhere outside my home.
Thanks for posting Rebel.
Dan
Dang one tablespoon! Woo Hoo!! LOL nice yeah very important details (I don't remember if I mentioned this or not but after dropping the oil, each time you smoke it kicks in again...)
It was all a good high, no negitive or depressing thoughts, no paranoia, the up and down was just the intensity of the high. It seemed to bounce back and forth from just high to really high but never trippy high.
I am a big guy who is in fairly good shape and I vape just about every night too. So that amount may be too much for some.
Another good important detail!!
piercedc did it help with pain?
Rebel did you get a chance to infuse it with coconut oil?
I'm also wondering if you could reuse the bud/trim for a second round of infusing it with oil
do you think it would be okay to put it in longer than 6 hours on low?
Not yet bro... I don't think you can or should reuse the trim. I know with olive oil no... assuming Coco Oil would be the same but you know what they say about assuming... LOL Still not sure on the 6 hr thing. Hopefully someone will chime in about that bro...
WOW thank you brother for taking the time and effort to post this.I'll be looking for this very recipe to try once I have me harvests in a few months.ive heard a Rice cooker works as good or maybe a little better cause you can set at a certain Temp(s)?..Thanks again mang!!
No worries man! Thanks! I also forgot to mention I inquired about the Rice Cooker and it seems that it's too hot and it would vape the trichs... so slow cooker is the way to go. Sometimes there's just no short cuts to good things...
Making a batch of oil now. Used an oz of very frosty but immature buds from a photo pruning session.
Will test tonite......
Woo Hoo!! Can't wait to see how that turns out for ya!
It's been brutal here lately... Damp, wet for over a month... brutal on the permanent injuries and arthritis... I have to say without the Olive Oil things would be unbearable and I would be pissy like a mofo. On top of it all I bruised my left wrist bone bad yesterday (f*cking door knobs and I are arch enemies... especially when I'm carrying shit!!!
and walking full speed none the less...) and it's pretty raw today and the oil is helping a LOT.
Also, I made 4 different batches of oil with different trim mixes and cooked for different durations of time. First two were with non first press oil (as I didn't become aware first press was very important until the 3rd and 4th batches) and cooked for 6 hrs and 5 hrs. The 3rd and 4th were made with the First Press Olive Oil and cooked at 3.5 and 3 hrs... now... after polishing off the 4th batch and starting back on the 2nd batch I would have to say the ones cooked LONGER are more potent.
Now I did that because I thought the trim was burning... well, I could smell it burning and it the trim was black but that may have been from using Second press Oil... there is a slight burnt taste in the 2nd batch and mostly trim taste with the 2nd press oil... SO what I'm gonna do is a new run with the Right Oil for a minimum of 5 hrs with the most potent trim I have (Auto Amnesia, Cotton Candy, White Rhino, and Sour Jack). I think I was too concerned with the oil burning the 3rd and 4th times that I turned it off too early... Result being instead of 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon with batch #2... batch #4 we needed a full TABLEspoon to have same effect.
Now If I haven't confused you all already... basically in that ramble I'm saying the 5-6 hr oil was way more potent. So turn it on the lowest setting and cook it for as long as you can!!
