Extraction Canna Olive Oil - Ditch the Pain Pills!!

Sorry does anyone know if Cold Pressed Olive Oil would be okay?

My fault for slackin bro! Cold press is great as long as its First Press. That is what you want and most important. First press olive oil. And if using straight bud 21-28 grams with 1 1/4 cup olive oil. You must grind it up first. Be careful when dosing at first as it will be very potent as compared to using trim.

I've slacked on this thread and I apologize. I will get back to it later tonight as I'm curious about Coconut Oil now we've researched some stuff and see its more potent apparently...

I made this oil the other day.
I used trim and first pressed olive oil.
It came out great!

I didn't really like the taste (just like with coconut oil). So I thought of a way to use it.
I made a salad dressing.
Added some cider vinegar, minced garlic and italian seasoning.

It tastes wonderful and takes the pain in my back away.:check:

You won't get all the green out.But you can remove a lot. What you do is put it in the fridge. If you can squeeze it in, put the whole crock in there. The reason for that is that I lost quite a bit pouring it from one container to another. Some oil would stick to the pot, and I was cleaning the pot between cleanings. One time I didn't wait long enough, and the water still had some oil in it.
The oil should float to the surface. Nice thing about coconut oil is that it hardens, and you can just lift it off. You will have to skim most oils. It can take a while for all the oil to get to the surface. After that, pour the water down the drain, and replace it with fresh. You keep doing that until the water doesn't turn green. Here are some other differences. I used leaf and bud. I gave both a quick grind in a blender. I also used a hand blender in the crockpot. The guy that said to use a hand blender said it made a big difference. To be honest, I have no idea if it did or not. Another nice thing about coconut oil solidfying, is that I was able to put it into ice cube trays, freeze it, and keep the cubes in the freezer. It's not precision dosing, but it works.

I went to a talk about making extracts, and the lady giving the talk suggested doing two different extractions on your pot. What she does most is glycerine extracts. I actually bought a quart of that, but I haven't had the chance to try it yet. Partly that's because I am pretty happy with what I did. I did an ice hash extraction, and then another extraction using coconut oil.

Late, Thank you very much for all that info and for taking the time to post it!

Did you use any stems as well? Also how long did you have to wait for it to kick in?

I have all my stems seperate at the moment as I had planned on one day making stem butter BUT I'm wondering if I could do a oil run with the stems... I have to do some more homework or just use them to make butter. But to answer you question Bro, no I have only used sugar leaf trim at this point. For me it takes about 20 mins to start feeling it and kicks in fully after about an hour. Now I'm a bit over weight so I don't know if means it will kick in for slimmer folks... But something to consider. It's about the same a taking a pain pill honestly... Like my Wife she's thin so things hit her faster than me.

I know that one can get the green tatse out from a miriad of techniques and diff. strains too.Ruderalis strains as a basic rule always has a green flavor even if its very faint. But many of these reverse crosses from what I understand have a much muuch less green flavor. And myself made some last season that wasnt too bad and Imma super newbie. And it depends too on how much chlorophyl(Cant spell) and how its prepped from what Ive read and the vids Ive seen and the people Ive talked to.Ill have to read up on this a little more since Ive heard people getting it quite pure.hmmmm, some nice food for thought.Sorry was more of a question than a statment ,truly.Ive just heard of people saying they can get all the green taste out of oils when mixed within a recipe.my bad bro.

I've had my own oil and one other to compare it to and I know why mine comes out tasting like it does... I need something to cook it at a lower temp... would a rice cooker work? Asking in general there... Also I need to find something better than my own two hands to squeeze the trim/oil out after draining... I move it around too much and it's a bit cumbersome... but if I could lay cheesecloth in something, then put the trim/oil in that and close it up and squeeze, kinda like a juicer... I'd probably get a less planty taste. I just know it can taste better as I've had better tasting oil... so that's what I'm getting at... It can taste good without having to water cure it... like Dub said you do want that cholorphyll in there as it has healing properties as well...

Awesome write-up brother, thank you for this! I can't wait until I have the materials at hand to try it.. have you tried the coconut oil method as well? I won't have much to try it with and it's not only for me but to help some one in need and I don't want a bad end product.:slap:

Thanks WG! No I have yet to try coconut oil but the Wife has been on me about trying it with capsules as she reads it's more potent than Olive Oil. I have only done 4 runs and I'm still getting dialed in... Thanks for that +rep Brother!!

Rebel, Very nice write-up. I'm glad this oil is able to help you and your wife. And thank you DubV I can't wait to try this method.

Thanks Root 66! Can't wait to see how it helps you guys!

Hey Reb, thanks for sharing this awesome recipe, can't wait to try it this fall after my first harvest.:gthumb: So glad to hear that you and your wife have been able to get off all of the Pharmaceuticals  I was on that train myself for many o year.Canna works so much better than all the high doses of the Opiates and all that other crap!
:peace:

Thanks very much StickMan! Can't wait to hear your feedback on it so please return after your run and let us know how it goes!! We agree! And so happy we have found yet ANOTHER way to medicate with this amazing plant!

Agreed! :gthumb: :slap:Hey... have you considered olive leaf powder mixed in as well?:2cents:

No I haven't... What would that do Bro?

first pressed indicates the oil was recovered from the olives ONE TIME only, by pressure only....another name is virgin olive oil.....cold pressed means the oil was recovered without heating above a certain temperature....usually 27*C ...there are other methods of recovering olive oil, using heat or chemicals that give further grades of oil...

Nice! Max Rep for great info!

Thanks, because I see some First Pressed Cold Pressed labels in the same bottle. I'm guessing Cold pressed wouldn't work as good?

to the contrary...first pressed, cold pressed oil is the one to keep an eye out for....the premium oil..

:D

LB

Again, max rep for all the great info and for clarifying that the Cold Press First Press is the Oil is the Premium Oil and what we want in this case...

Thanks so cold pressed itself would be good to use in this method?

Cold press First press is what you want RC...

Interesting idea my friend  Also I only water cure when traveling with it and secondly you don't want to remove the chlorophyll. It has many health benefits. Yes it tastes rough sometimes but consider the poisons your are putting in your body everyday. Play with strains and different maturity levels of trichs to find the perfect daytime and nighttime meds :smokebuds:

Sound Advice!! Thanks Dub!!

Does anyone know if a Rice Cooker would be good or bad in this case? Or can anyone recommend a specific Crock Pot that runs very low temps... I find my cooker after 3.5 hrs burns the shit out of my trim and oil. Haven't gotten a thermometer yet to see what it runs at but I'm curious as to what you all use successfully as I've it 4 times and last time I had to shut it down at 3.5 hrs.

Well, all right Rebel. I whipped up a batch of too much coconut to bud oil last month. Tablespoon after tablespoon. Not a good idea.

Coconut oil nice to have if = strong/small doses. May be less versatile than olive oil.

Have a AKR about ready. Will make a strong batch of your olive oil for salad or by the teaspoon. Olive oil is yummy.

Alan did the coconut oil infused with cannabis help with pain?

I make all my oils in a crock pot/slow cooker. It has a heating plate on the bottom and the "pot" comes off. It has 1 -5 settings and is easy to control the temp. Not fancy, not expensive but it works.

I usually extract with coconut oil and with water. When you use coconut oil, there is a step to rinse the material with boiling water to get all the oil out. So I don't have to squeeze too much.

I have heard people talk of using a fruit press or rigging up a vice and a jack.

The best stem oil I made was when I let them sit in coconut oil for 2 weeks then warmed them up slightly and processed the oil.

At the time, I had no pain. Minimal effect. Simply too much oil and not enough bud. And I may have overcooked.

Too many tablespoons of greenish coconut oil borders on repulsion.
