Indoor Canna Grows Mixed Sweets in Mixed Soil under Mixed Lighting

:smoking:---lookin' shweeet Canna! :hump: :greenthumb::hump:... looking at their opposite builds, I can't help but think of Laurel and Hardy! I'm digging the fact that you've had no nutritional issues at all, they both look stellar :d5:-- That Chz is a real beaut' my friend, she's gonna make a bunch of gummy stank bud for you! I love Sweet's Cheese aroma, like a danish pastry ... GP is a fav' among my friends too,...:eyebrows: Now, if you could only get those two girls all hot and bothered blooming, and finish up in time! :eek1: ...if you must leave them to another's care, I'll be happy to help monitor as best I can, and talk them through things,... Drying is my biggest worry, so leave specifics about how you did it and avoided mold in that high RH env..... :pass:

Drying is the easy bit, Waira. A couple of days under a ceiling fan, then into brown paper bags until the RH reaches 60%, then into jars. Never had any kind of mold problems.

This is beginning to get worrying. It's day 63 and they're still stretching. I switched to 12/12 five days ago (from 20/4) hoping to flip them into flowering, but to no avail. I'm still waiting to hear if a friend can babysit these while I'm away. It's not a done deal, and this grow may be a bust if I can't find someone I can trust to look after them.

Laurel and Hardy indeed. The Cheese is turning into a monster: she's 30" tall and 40" wide, and she's completely taken over the grow space. I have to be ruthless and give priority to the Cheese; the GP is just a big ugly stick and its yield will be much less than the Cheese. I may finish the GP in daylight. Anyway, here's how she looks today (no pics of the GP until she flowers):

Spectacular growing! Sorry I missed the start!Amazing considering you don't have a local Hydro store like most of us. So bushy and healthy the combination of light sources is working a treat and you seem to have sorted your soil woes.really enjoyed catching up. Hope you enjoy flowering.[emoji6]

Day 69 Update

The Sweet Cheese is finally in flower, but I have only 28 days left before heading to Europe. Not nearly enough time for the girls to finish. The friend I was hoping would babysit has declined, so I'm back to square one.

The GP has yet to flower; I'll see if I can donate her to a friend.

Sure didn't expect these to go so long (I was smoking the last GP I grew at 55 days!), but it's been hotter and more humid (32°C and 70% RH) than it should be in the cool season here (28° and 50% would be more normal). Anyway, it is what it is.

Here's the Sweet Cheese, still blemish-free:

Great looking cheese you should be able to pull a few nuggets off her before you go. Just who can burp the jars ? Then again with the RH in Thailand you could probably go away for a month and leave them hanging!

:pass: Canna', how are things, mate? :bighug: ...My-o' my, that Chz is getting beastly! :vibe::hump: I'll tell you what, she looks fantastic as a lovely decor plant in your house- ....ooyyy, tic toc, huh? What a double drag you can't find a care taker for them, or at least GP,... any luck on adopters?...fingers crossed for the Chz to at least make something decently harvestable! She is damn nice plant, one would think somebody would snag here right up, with thanks! ....I still would love to know why you get these lengthy grow/bloom times ,...And I'll be very curious to see what new seeds do for you as well, including some new breeders; any chance you can pick up some Mephisto gear while over there?

Sorry, guys, the grow is a bust. I had to get rid of the GP - it was almost 5 feet tall and showing no signs of flowering apart from the pre-flowers. The Cheese is the same, over 4 feet tall now and still stretching. No one is interested in taking it (it's too big to move anyway) or caretaking it.
I still would love to know why you get these lengthy grow/bloom times
Wish I knew too, mate. :cuss: High temps and humidity, slight variation between night and day temps? It's reminiscent of my 130-day TD and Northern Lights grow of a couple of years ago.

She is lovely. I reckon if I threw a few lights and baubles on her, she'd be a shoo-in for the AFN 2016 Xmas tree competition. :eyebrows:

Would love to try a Mephisto grow. I'm waiting to see what's in the new Heritage selection. Should be able to safely order while in Ireland.
It breaks my heart to have to do this. Apart from a broken heart, I have nothing home grown to smoke for the next six months!

Here's a final pic, taken from a step ladder:

:pass:Hey bud! ...wow, 5'+ on that GP-- bigger than my OD girls were! ..is the Chz... gone? That must have been literally painful- :bighug: dammit! Alas, the Christmas Cheese-- ....Canna, I still am of two minds about those being the auto versions... you never had them in original packs, right? These were bought and sent to you? With true auto's, there's no delaying the switch, others have tried-- light hours, temps, combo's thereof,... Well, we will see later this year, right? The Artisanal line isn't due to release until 4/20, and who knows how long those will last :amazon: :haha:...strain info is up now at the Mephisto section! ...but, there are so many super fine strains of Mephisto! Alien vs. Triangle was tested at 25% THC recently!:dizzy: Several others are in the 19% range,... check out this months BOM: Tyrone Special, and it's fekking superb! You simply cannot lose... Oh, if you like your Sativa-type buzzes, Fantasmo Express (Ghost Train Haze auto) is outstanding... I'm smoking the last of the tiny 32oz cup girl from last Fall,...:coffee::greenthumb:.... man, I wish you were closer my friend, it kills me that you'll be without for months when you get back... upside is, most of their strains are speedy... Toof Decay (super yum! 7-8 weeks), and Sour Crack (7 weeks!),... So, when do you leave and get back? :woohoo:
