Do you use the bio boost? I really liked it was just expensive but maybe it's cheaper than getting all the additives I use now. Fish shit, em1, urb only in flower and crab extract from coast of Maine only once a month and my own banana ffj during flower. Then the rest is dry amendments
I think the boost is great, and the Bio boost is much less expensive than the regular boost, only about $60/btl I think. I think it would be a great addition to your dry amendments system. It has a pretty neutral nutrient footprint, but I have noticed that it significantly increases nutrient uptake.
I have used many dry amendments in the past, but most of them contain animal by products. And I started using bio canna to have an animal free grow more than an organic grow, which is why I use the canna PK boost from the chem line. I do a lot of flower vaping and I make a lot of bubble hash, and when I used guano or any fish products I felt like there was always just a hint of it in the final product, especially when vaping flowers. After reading quite a bit about vegan growing by Matt Rize and Kyle Kushman on ROI I decided to give it a try. They used bio canna to develop a vegan growing system, and Kushman eventually launched his own line of vegan nutrients. I checked out the Kushman brand but it was actually a lot more expensive than bio canna, so I went with Canna. I have grown 6 crops of both phots and autos using no animal inputs, and although the Kushman nutrient seemed overpriced and a bit like snake oil, I think they were on to something with low or no animal inputs. My flowers do seem sweeter and burn cleaner/smoother compared to my grows with animal based amendments.
In any case a bottle of the bio boost lasts a pretty long time, I buy a bottle about every 6-9 months to keep my 2 tent 6 plant grow going, my guess is I end up spending around $5 per plant on the boost. Saving a few $$ would not be worth the added hassle of having to keep around additional bottles and deal with mixing them. At this point in my grow journey I am more committed to quality and simplicity over saving a few dollars.
