I am new to growing. I am looking at the 32x32 tent with the kingbrite 240w quantum board light with 2-4 auto plants in 5 gallon buckets for dwc with the perpetual harvest where you could plant 1-2 plants then like 6 weeks later plant 1-2 plants to where you could harvest 1-2 plants every like 6 weeks on there for it.

I want to use the same bucket throughout the whole grow without moving it then replace it between grows with a new bucket. I have read that it is recommended to replace the water in the dwc bucket often. Do any of you not replace the water in the dwc bucket and instead only add water with nutrients to the bucket when needed for it? What kind of yield do you think you would get per plant with that on there for it?

@the123321 Welcome to AFN:welcome:.

You must change the reservoir weekly in DWC. The reason is that plants do not use the nutrients in the reservoir equally. They simply use what they need at that time. Unless you have a laboratory and know how to test it you have no idea what remains in the reservoir. When you then add nutrients you are upsetting the balance to a degree that will begin lock-out. This can happen rapidly in hydro.

Thanks. I will read through that post. If you need to replace the water in the bucket weekly how is the easiest way to do that? With a pump? is there a pump that sits outside the bucket with a line in and line out with 1 tube going in the bucket to empty and 1 line to the empty bucket to move the water to it on there for it?
