Live Stoner Chat Calling seed vendors. Could you be small breeder seed distributor, or is it but a dream?

Very cool idea to get your foot in the door. Hope your business works out for you!

I know it seems that way, but that's not me. I wouldn't want to tie myself to Cannabis either, and would not be able to reap the rewards of any 'drug money' as it would be seen as.

For me at least, it's about seeing how my little creation does in the hands of others.

I would imagine that seed vendors are very protective about their names/reputation so it would be hard to get a foot in the door, worth trying though if breeding is something you're interested in.

I have been doing, and will continue the breeding anyway. It would be nice to see them in the hands of others who would appreciate them.

I suppose the different country laws etc would be a nightmare to navigate, so amateurs having a go would probably not be appreciated.

It's a good idea, but it depends on what kind of seedbank you're takking about dealing with. The established seedbank already have deals in place with the most sought after breeders, including freebies from those breeders.. They won't risk their name/reputation on untested freebies from one they don't know... it would be kind of like walking into an established soccer ball store and making a sales pitch for them to carry your soccer ball that's never been heard of or used in a game. There are start up seedbanks that specialize in working with smaller, lesser know breeders though.. They will allow you to sell your packs through their seedbank. But that's risky in its self.. The risk is that they take your "freebies", repackage them, rename them, and sell them.. But there are quite a few of them based here in the states and all over Instagram. That may be a good starting place, but again, it's risky.. t's not a pipe dream, just a long road to travel.. It takes a few years to get a well know rep as a breeder and to build confidence with the buying public. To have pics of all your strains, to get others who've grown them to vouch for you ect.. It's a game of trust.

Yeah, I hear that. Not much I could do about it either.

Lots to think about.

Getting a grow up on here is all I'll be asking anyone. When I get to that stage I'll keep you in mind.
K, thanks! Will do my best if you consider me. Got a 30x30x30 veg box, 2x2x7 closet and will have the aforementioned 4x4 and 500watts of qb.

I totally misunderstood you, sorry. Well, I hope you find some excellent growers to show off your skill as a breeder! Best of luck as a botanist! I read some of your other threads. I'm sure your experience will shine through in your creations.

You could use a service like Collect+ where you can send the package for collection at one of their pick up points. You just send the recipient a code and not require ID for collection.
Or ghostmaildrop where you can send and receive mail anonymously.

A problem you would run into is people like me who would have no interest in growing anything but known strains I've selected for what I want (or freebies) from just a few familiar and trusted breeders. There simply is no room in my tent to grow anything but the most desired and promising strains.

Also, seeds from individuals vs. real seed companies just don't appeal to me. How can they match the labs., test fields/facilities, R&D budgets, real experts on staff, etc. of established breeders? To use an analogy, would you prefer to use, put all your trust in, etc. a base nutrient product made by an individual vs. an established nutrient manufacturer?

Seeds are legal. To distribute them free, depending where you are, maybe just give your seeds to local dispensaries, head shops, grow shops, etc. to give to their customers.

I don't see the problem with receiving seed recipients' names and addresses. Simply don't keep any records! If seeds are free, there's no $/income or sales involved, not even bartering, so there is no need to track or report anything.

US "customers" can use UPS "The UPS store" as a mailto and pickup location. Like a secure locker with a street address, their name, but no real identifying info.

I'm starting to breed out my own auto lines, and at some point, I would like to share them with others. Personally, I would just send them to people, but this is an age where you cannot take that risk - at either end.

I know that people would not, and should not, provide me with their personal information to send seeds to them. But they would do so with a seed vendor, especially one that was registered to this site.

So I was thinking, would any vendor take me up on the offer of giving them seeds and then they distribute them as freebees when someone has a code or whatever at checkout. I know it would cost postal wise, but it would drive people to the site & therefore more sales. I would even be possibly talked into compensating them for anything out of pocket, thinking of it as a service rather than purchasing a product.

Is that just a pipe dream, or even remotely possible? Would vendors even be interested in someone like me, or is it not worth their while?
:smoking: Nice', have you chatted with AutoBeanstalk here? DC Seed Exchange, Oregon Elite too,...
Also, maybe share some seeds privately with some select AFN homies... It's all good if parties agree on info terms in PM, just no open exchange talk in the form itself, all PM's until things are more official. The No Seed swap/sale/beg/whatever is against TOS with general members in open forum due to legal issue with AFN liability, etc.,...
Document some grows as an "unofficial" group is usually the first step to becoming an Indie' Breeder in status.... "testers" and such! :rolleyes2:
Let's see what the Bosses say too, so stand by mate :smoking:
