Photoperiod Bruce Banner #3

Hi @smokeyfromau nice to have you stop by. Ya photo's are easy for me 18 -24 hour veg and 12-12 cycle to finish. The 12-12 in my opinion is the most critical. I always start in solo cups then go to 1 gallon pots and then to 5 gallon buckets. @Jimmythenugg I just use the LED's to start and veg then I put them under the 1000W (metal halide for further veg) and HPS for flower. I was able to get some RO water from the store without issues other than everyone had a mask on but me.

Hi @Green Hornet , was lovely to stop by and see your girls, looking healthy :woohoo1: :pass:Thanks Bro for that, yes my little Libery Haze has roots at the bottom of my tube, 1 gal then to main pots 35L antispiaral this time to try out, lol least i cant overwater then. Its my winter here in Australia, give them light 6am to 9:30pm ( morning and night CFL T5 light , rest full sun), then plan to get them out and keep them under sunlight in the greenhouse ( new bloom house) - roof off durning day undercover at nigtht - mornings can be a bit chilly

I Looked up your Liberty Haze on Leafly @smokeyfromau very impressive review. If you have a thread please let me know. I have to grow indoors but would prefer your set up. Sounds like she's has a good start.
Hi Green Hornet :pass: , yes we liked her review also. Since its winter and days are less i do indoor plus out for the photos, and she is by far the largest photogirl in the grow atm. so will be needed to go to her 1gal then to final 35L pot. Thanks she is doing the best then Super Lemon haze, and Bubba Kush and Durban are about the same though Durban and her took longer to appear

The Bruce Banner's have been in their 1 gallon pots for 2 weeks so it was time to put them in the 5 gallon buckets. They all had healthy root balls. I tried pouring some gnatnix in the bottom 2 inches of the buckets before the Roots organic potting soil. I am hoping this will keep the gnats from invading from the bottom drain holes. I have not tried this before. The Purple Kush received a defoliation this was the third one. If they go 8 weeks like the seed sticker says that will mean they have 3 weeks to go.

Hi GreenHornet, they are looking great your girls mate. I can see how the root ball is well formed, and i also find gnats are a problem around here, since we are on septic plus the creek, maybe it breeds damp locations for gnats. I just have a heathly supply of gnatrol bti powder, though the adults can still introduce disease. Good idea, as ive seen gnats at the bottom of the pots, and just kept the occasional spray of the bottom with a natural spray, seems to knock them down well, as did the insecticdale soap experiment.

The fungus gnats are always a battle I keep them at bay but total elimination has not occurred. @smokeyfromau the Roots organic soil I use has them already in it from the grow shop. The bags have air holes and the sneaky $%%^ get in from the start. I have hit them with many different dunks, diatomaceous earth, sticky traps and I even strangle the little bugs by hand by using my hands to work the top dirt up and squeeze. They will leave when some plants flower and get nice and pungent (like the Purple Kush) but then they end up in my veg tent. I have not had any problems other than their annoyance. This Gnatnix is just another way to slow them down I hope.:baked:

Its impossible to get rid of them but to slow down and interupt their breeding that will have some impact. Thats great Green Hornet, the Roots soil has it in it. As soon as i buy a potting mix i cover the holes form gnats and the cheap store stuff even bought gnats home :nono: never touch that brand again. Lol i kill the buggers on top the soil also, they wobble and struggle and then die when hit with insectical soap. I must say havent been as much around flower now you mention it. :pass:eactly mate we can only slow them, much like the annoying mosquito, you wonder what their purpose is in the ecology

Loooovely!

Flypaper will keep numbers down, but once ou got 'em, fungus gnats are there forever.
D earth or 2 inches of sand will stop em dead but not for ever.
Bastards nearly caused a mental snap last year (in the midst of a heat wave).
Fngers crossedyou gain control of em.
