Hey Bill. I also use the coffee filter like SourD. Put in a sandwich bags, then in a CD case and stand up on top of my fridge. Any warm place works.Ok, a question for you other testers....did anyone else do the paper towel method?...as per normal, I always revisit my failure's trying to find the reason, and in doing so I realized this is only the 2nd time I tried it....and only had 1 of 4 grow that time. Even though I stand there reading labels trying to find no adverse chems towels I'm beginning to think maybe that method isn't right for me......any thoughts appreciated.
That's interesting that he's RainScience 3gal bags for that. That should work well. They are working very well for me with the first two girls I used them in.Oh yeah! She is ready @MassMom. Yo @pop22 this morning after my morning dab I stumbled into @Mizzo81 journal and saw the mad man uses RainScience 3gal bags in his autopot system. Can't believe I never thought of using mine so I didn't have lag time with my Res. Especially with the new pot socks they have since they take a little room.
I was very surprised to see him using them, and very happy it was working well. Definitely plan on trying it. I bought a 10 pack of the 3Gal. I use them for all my hand feed runs, but if I can just swap plants into the res through my Perpetual grow, that is a HUGE plus. That's interesting that he's RainScience 3gal bags for that. I'm using 4, maybe 5, in the grow I'm starting.
Midwest Widow is showing nice vigor at this early stage. Both are just slightly bigger than the other tentmates that popped the same day at the moment.
Looking at all the other girls so far, I think I'll just use a minimal amount of LST and just open them up and grow fairly naturally. Maybe I'll top one. By the time they get to that point, you early guys will have more examples of how the topped girls perform.
Waiting sucks, but it does have some advantages.
I'm liking the wet/dry cycle they go thru when they get to be fairly big. I've only run them in my small tent with a little old Burple light. Works badass, but a tiny high-power footprint. I'm looking forward to using them under my Mars SP6500.I was very surprised to see him using them, and very happy it was working well. Definitely plan on trying it. I bought a 10 pack of the 3Gal. My MW has been very sensitive to nutes, I topped her the other day. She is reacting to the topping very well.
I plan on dropping my other seed soon, I wanted to wait and see how others went about theres also.

I have found my little MW lady to be a touch sensitive to nutes and light. I brought down PPM and PPFD a touch...I think I went a bit to fast for my little DivaI was very surprised to see him using them, and very happy it was working well. Definitely plan on trying it. Hi mom, she's a beauty...10/24/21
DAY 20
Tent temp: 80 PAR: 300
Brother Mendel's Midwest Widow
Not much to report, she is doing so fantastic! When I checked the main jug of feed this morning it was 5.9ph and 600ppm. I took out 3 cups and diluted it down to 450..so she ended up getting around 4 cups (1L). Usually I would turn on the res at this point, but she is doing so well I dont want to jinx it! I have also decided just let her do her "thang" and not to top her or do any serious bondage.

I gave up on the paper towel method after I broke a few tap roots being impatient. I just put the seeds right in root riot or cheap knock off and in a baggie. Then they go in the closet. I had some germ issues awhile back and started using distilled water with few drops of peroxide. Seems to have solved my problems.Ok, a question for you other testers....did anyone else do the paper towel method?...as per normal, I always revisit my failure's trying to find the reason, and in doing so I realized this is only the 2nd time I tried it....and only had 1 of 4 grow that time.
