Brother Mendel's Selections Midwest Widow Q4 2021 Grow-and-Show!

I will either tonight or tmrw when they wake up prolly tonight tho to be honest
I added a gallon on the 14th day. That was one week after transplant from the planter it sprouted,,,,,plain Roots Organic,
With the amount of roots I saw at 7 days, I knew it would be fine in a week to water the rez.
The Haze didn't skip a friggin' beat. I hope the Freebie, a lot recommended it on m thread, takes off like she did! LOL!
At least I can see what this girl would do in a sip. If I had the room, I sure would have run one in an EB.
I'm hopeful doing both in 3 gal pots. The Haze clone is in one and she's doing quite well under a small 7r old light.........still works great, just a small footprint.
Get that rez going and she'll start screaming and raging!!!

I should have at least one MW up when I check a little later.:eyebrows:

Finally home to give Midwest Window a soak and then off to her final home in Biobizz light mix. When time to start feeding will be using AN Grow and then Bloom. Can’t wait to see her spring to life!
:growing:

10/20/21
DAY 16
Tent temp: 80 PAR: 320
Brother Mendel's Midwest Widow
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterdays Feed: 400PPM of Mega Crop(3g), 70PPM of Botanicare Cal/Mag (1ml), & 70PPM of Epsom Salt (1g) ~PPM540, and mixture came out automatically to pH'd to 5.8. She was fed the whole 540 PPM as I was totally a bad mama and forgot to dilute it down~oops! :eek1: But... she seems to have taken it like a champ and is doing just fine this morning. I actually see a lot of growth since the mishap. I guess 540PPM it is from now on :biggrin: I am thinking I will hand water her till day 25 or so then turn on the rez, and I might not top her and just tuck leaves to see what she's got! :woohoo1:
Ok, a question for you other testers....did anyone else do the paper towel method?...as per normal, I always revisit my failure's trying to find the reason, and in doing so I realized this is only the 2nd time I tried it....and only had 1 of 4 grow that time. Even though I stand there reading labels trying to find no adverse chems towels I'm beginning to think maybe that method isn't right for me......any thoughts appreciated.
I really don't see any merit to the paper towel method to be honest.
I have a little piece of roll-up sandpaper that I keep in my tool pouch in the 4x4 tent. I always shake my seeds in it to take the sheen off and make the seed more absorbent along The parting line where it splits. I soak it in water with a little bit of humic acid. This last time within 12 hours I can see tiny tails trying to poke out. After 24 hours soak I put them in little transplant pot. Four of the five are above the ground with no hats. Last night at 10:00 p.m. it was 48 hours. I've only had one to fail so far after a little over a year growing.
Hard to believe.
Yeah, I got a tube of sandpaper as well, really works a treat. I've soaked as long as 48 hrs and had nice tails....don't know why I decided to try paper towel again.
I use a moist, white cheap paper towel, 24-48 hours on my router in sandwich bag, then once popped a good bit it goes into a root riot set in a propagator placed in warm baby tent. It seems like a lot of "unnecessary steps" but if I deviate from that method in any way I get squat! Go figure :eek1: Not everyone cares for the method, but personally its the only one that works for me. I am sorry you had that issue hon. Sending love to you and your lost seeds!!
fwiw. I use unbleached coffee filters. Sometimes the root hairs can get caught up in the coarser paper towels-si I;ve been told. I like to wait till I've got a good size tap root. I've tried nubbies but had the root grow out of the ground even though others have said it can't happen here
