briman's PlatinumLed P300 test thread 2

Hello AFN! :pass:Testing out a PlatinumLed P300!!:headbang: I would first like to thank PlatinumLED for the opportunity to test their gear and give it a solid run and see what she's got. The test kit is as follows...
Light- PlatinumLED P300(180actual watts)
Tent-Apollo Horticulture 2' x 4' x 5' but only running 2 plants directly under the LED
pots-plastic 3 gallon grow bags x 2
Medium-Kindsoil on the bottom with a topping of Humboldt Mix soil less medium
Water- Tap Water ph'd between 6.3-6.8 as per Kindsoil instructions
Ph buffer- Earthjuice ph down natural crystals
Seeds-Fastbuds Pineapple Express
Filter-Phresh 4 inch with a Hurricane extraction fan. Clip fan for air movement inside the tent.
I'll be germing the seeds tonight in rapid rooters on the wifi and will fill the bags tomorrow and and get a shot of the complete setup, with beans in their final home. Here are some pics of the unboxing of the light and a few modifications I made. Any questions or comments, dont be afraid to ask! Lets do this!!!

Overall thoughts are that this led is well made, bright as can be and ready for a few plants! There is one issue I have and it is NOT with the panel at all. Its the hardware that comes with it. Looking like a foot(12" or better) with the hanging hardware and that makes it difficult in a 5 foot tent, as far as vertical height is concerned. I Dont like running out of room and like a little buffer, just in case you get a freak of nature plant, that turns into a beaster! So I scrapped the hanging kit that came with the panel and used some heavy duty picture hanging wire and modified to save me about 10 inches off the stock gear. Check it out...

Again, if you have any questions or comments, go ahead and ask away! Hope you all enjoy what you see and this whole setup is new(except the tent and fans) so I hope we have a good show for Platinum and you fine members of AFN! You have now entered....The CannaZone!!:eyebrows:

Week 1 update!! How's everyone doing today? Ladies are at week 1 and all is good in the tent, except the heat! 81*F in the tent and things should cool off a bit, in the upcoming weeks. Love the led and I have the 2 plants right under the center of the light in the 2 x 4 all to them selves!! I will get the rest of the shots in natural light. I forgot, with this camera, that the lights on shots make my eyes hurt!!:cools: On to some pics...

Week 2 update. Ladies are looking good, but a bit overwatered. We had temps @ 85+ in the tent and I got a bit carried away. Will let them dry out for a few days and we should see some explosive growth! Kindsoil is so simple, but the Earth Juice ph down crystals are a bit to get used to on how much to add. A little goes a long way with this stuff! On to some pics...

Week 3 update! What a difference a week makes! Ladies are doing great and I will be flipping the timer from 24/0 to 20/4 for a dark period. Will be feeding them again with ph water at 6.5 looking forward to seeing what these things do in the next few weeks. On to some pics...

Week 4 update! Hello peeps!:vibe:Things are looking good in the tent and the ladies are stretching pretty good now. temps are steady @ 75*F and I have not put on a dark period for these gals. I was going to do it, but decided against it. Watering every couple days and still think I'm over watering a bit. The Kindsoil is a breeze to use and all I am doing is adding ph down crystals to the water to get it to 6.5 and I love the incredible smell coming off these ladies. Pure funk! On to some pics...

weeks 5 update and all is good in the tent. I am officially out of tent height for my little tent. I flipped the bloom switch today and they are now getting the full spectrum of what the P300 has to offer! Temps and humidity are solid and the frost coming on these plants are telling me, that they will be some great looking ladies in full flower! The Kindsoil is SOOOOOOOOO easy, it should be illegal! Ph water to 6.5 and water!
@MeefChief, welcome aboard man! :pass:
Any questions or comments, ask away! These ladies are going to be little shrubs and may have to do with a little overwatering, but are looking good all the same! On to some pics...

Welcome aboard @Grim Reefer!!
Week 8 and these ladies are about 1.5 weeks out from being done. I need to up their water to 6.7-6.8 to make up for the deficiencies, but since they are about done, I may not adjust the water at all for the next week and a half. Temps are steady, humidity is steady and are looking good. Not the fattest buds in the world, but some of the frostiest I have ever grown. Not bad for a new learning curve with a new led and soil!:thumbsup:Some of the stinkiest weed I have grown out!! Fastbuds wont disappoint!! On to some pics...

Week 9 and I took the 2 pineapple express down this evening. they looked ragged from depleting the Kindsoil from its NPK and the buds were rock hard and the stinkiest plants I have grown out to date. I will say that the Platinum P300 performed flawlessly and I do like this led! I will throw up a review in a few days, when the Bud is dry. Great light, the only thing I can say, is it would probably be better in a 2 x 2 over a 2 x 4 tent. It is rated for a 2 x 3, but I dont even know if they make a tent of that dimension?? It does shoot out a pretty narrow footprint, but that is what I was told it would do. I am very happy to test this led out and want to give @PlatinumLEDTom and the crew at Platinum a huge THANK YOU for letting me test this out! Much appreciated!:worship: It was a fun grow!! In my 2 x 4 x 5 tent, this led on 24/0 kept the tent at a rock solid 77*F! Perfect for this setup!
