Indoor BoogNelson's perpetual journey

So gnats suck real bad, sorry youre fightin em off!
Ive had a few here and there currently but had a terrible infestation on one of my last plants.
So i tried to attack em on a couple different fronts. The flying gnats dont do any damage they just lay eggs, its the larvae that eat the roots and mess em up so its not enough to just catch the flyers. We need to nuke the eggs and larvae under the soil as well as catch the flying gonads.
First i watered heavy for 2-3 days with h2o2 to start killing some eggs and such.
In between waterings i drench all the soil with the neem spray, top, sides, i even sprayed my watering tray real good so the bottoms would get coated a bit.
I used a premixed neem/fungicide/miticide spray off some prime online retailer.
I also laid down sticky traps to catch the adults.
This seemed to break the cycle for me, took about a solid week.
I hope you can get em under control, theyre sh!tty lil bastards!
Sorry to hear about your fungus hydra problem. These suckers are everywhere now. Geez. Ive watered 4 plants with hyfrogen peroxide. How much of it did you use ans neem oil? Can i find neem oil at walmart? I got 5 fly tape traps going. A jar trap with wine. Another with an apple. And another with cider vinegar and water. So far its done some damage on flyers.

I mixed up 1 part hydro peroxide to 4 parts water. It was right around week 4 so maybe 1/3 of a gallon a day to drench the soil.
Walmart may carry neem, or something similar.
If youve got annactual infestation then def soak the sh!t outta the soil. Ive read that gnats can also get through fabric pots a bit to lay eggs so id soak the whole thing down.
I have airpot type pots with all the holes. I had to soak them as well otherwise the gnats would just get in thru the sides.
Its good now, before i drop seeds im treating for pests and it all seems to be working.
Good luck on your battle!

Thanks alot! the great fungus hydra war of 2019 begins.

if im not wrong....which is quite often :crying: fungus gnats only feed and dead stuff...so not interested in your plant, above or below soil level.
some bugs the good, bad, ugly and benificials bugs like damp/moist conditions...one of the reasons i run soil (wet/dry cycles) living in a dark and damp land.
only time i had bugs (not sure what they where microscopic, had to stare at the soil and just wait for something to move to spot them.they was in the runoff tray, just looked like a tiny bit of white dust floating on the water.clear whitish maybe 6 legs but boy could they jump)was when i slightly over watered and had a dampish pot sitting in a puddle of runoff over a number of days.
i let the pots dry out,and they was gone :poof:
im no one for giving advice cause im a shit grower.just an option and should be takin with pinch of salt
good luck n keep er lit

Thanks a ton archie. Im sure with me having 6 plants at different ages watering daily because of that doesnt help.

Thanks a bunch Do you have a recommended amount of neem oil to use? Just mix with water and saturate the top layer?

I used a brand that wasn't concentrated for my outdoor plant that suffered a bout of powdery mildew. I would let it dry out first to kill as many as possible then saturate with the neem oil. This is the link to the one I used. Instructions are included.

Again, Boog, I am no soil expert, but this is just what I would do based on my research.

Hey bud! That one plant has got some fat colas! Hopefully that wine works for ya some, the sweeter the better looks like you got a lot of great suggestions the fly traps help me a lot. Doesn't help that a lot of the fruit you buy in the store has them. If the wine doesn't drown them quick enough put some in some funnel traps too.
