s&p td-100x silent
When I bought my tent off craigslist it came with two weeny little 4" sunleaves fans, maybe ok for veg but no good for a filter during flower. So I needed to find a good fan to run with a carbon filter.
I spent hours researching and found some people using s&p fans. I need to be completely stealth so my fan needs to be SILENT. Most people said they sucked and suggested a vortex or can fan instead. They also said the smallest one would likely not be enough. And that a muffler/box on a turned down 6" would be best.
I am in a dr80 and its pretty small so I need something small. I found a few cabinet growers who claimed the s&p silents were awesome and I bit the bullet.
TD-100x silent. New model, more cfm and quieter than the original mixvent series. It was about $180 shipped and considering that my local hydro store wants $250 or some shit like that for a 4" vortex I figured I wasn't doing too bad.
When the box came I was like ho shet this thing is huge. But it's pretty light. It doesn't come with a power cord so I cut one off a curling iron my gf donated to the cause, and wired it in. It was super simple i googled it haha.
I plugged it in, and man this thing moves air and is dead quiet. Just a whispering whoosh of air. I wired it on high, figuring I would want the most the little fan could give me, set it up in my tent, turned it on and zipped it up. Whoa crap my tent is going to implode!! All the sides got sucked in big time. I had those little 4" guys hooked up as intakes but when the big boy is on, it's pulling so hard I could hear the 4" blades going faster than normal speed. So I disconnected them and now just have the sock vents with dryer ducting providing passive intake. I also wired the fan to low speed and it still sucks the tent in quite a bit. I might make a light trap for one of the Velcro/mesh vents and open one of them for extra intake.
Bottom line is this fan rocks.
Now to get a filter..my lady is starting to STINK!
Sorry the photo is sideways I've always wondered why some came out like that. Now I know. I took pic with iPhone holding it tall way. It come out sideways. If I hold like watch movie sideways and take pic come out nice. Lol ill remember next time.

Light trapping vent/air mover
Use semi rigid aluminum dryer ducting for awesome light trap and air blower. My fan pulls hard enough these things blow fresh cool air on underside on my girl. Three good turns should be enough to stop most light I wouldn't shine a flashlight in there lol. On the outside it bends down to the ground so my ceiling light doesn't shine right in.

I was doing some trimming of the undergrowth this morning and Man I caught a wiff of some major cheese. It's still early to tell but i am excited never smelled anything like it. No fruitiness yet. Just straight cheese

Here some new shots I can't believe how much she has grown. Drinking lots, ph nice and stable. Ppm around 1200. I've also switched to RO for topoffs. I go 70/30 RO/tap for res change. Started using hydroplex and calmag. I dosed liquid karma last week it seemed to make lots of undergrowth, almost too much. so I will prob try again next week at 1/4 strength. I feel like the LK really makes for explosive growth. Frwaking bushy!
