Dutch Passion Billy Wu's second grow - Think Different (w/CO2 enrichment)

Day 21 update

Things are definitely perking up a bit now, seeing some great new vegging growth :] Newer leaves are looking healthier than the old ones, but I'm still pretty sure the pH isn't right. I've added 0.5ml of Liquid silicone and 1.5ml of CalMag in this feeding. Usually I feed the plants once a week, but since I just got these new nutrients and the plant looked like it needed them, I went for a double feed this week :]

She's definitely starting to look like my previous grow now, things are getting back to the way they should be. I imagine that after this watering, the pH will be back to 7. I've been adding 1½ tablespoons of dolomite lime each watering to make the pH neutralize, as the initial 5 tablespoons didn't do much. I won't be adding anymore now for at least another watering as it needs time to change the pH.

Great to see things back on Track billy! Lookin forward to this one!

Yep.. All the best Billy :wiz:

Thanks folks :] With the way things are starting to look I'm pretty sure this is gonna be another big plant! She's got a thick stem for her age, it's about as thick as a pen already. I've stopped adding Root Juice to the equation because last time, that stuff made the roots too vast and the plant got rootbound at around week 6/7, hence why it all started going yellow. Didn't realize until I harvested, was shocked to actually see a rootbound plant in a pot of that size xD

Once the pH is corrected, the conditions in the tent will be perfect. The temperature is perfect, the CO2 levels are perfect, humidity is perfect (40-50%), lights are great and I'll even have the LED ones in there too :]

Looking good Billy!

I've got an empty chair over at my diary, feel free to join the fun! :toke:

Day 24 update

Got back from a weekend away and wow, seen some great growth! Newer leaves are looking great :] Very lush and green.
Also, I've found some pistils! There are only a few little tiny ones, but they're there :] Also, the soil pH is up. Put pH 7 water in, got pH 6.3 out so it's almost perfect :] The lime should bump it up to 6.5 in a couple of days I imagine.

Second update: Just ordered 2x 50w LED lights :] Should be here in a week or two I hope! I paid $144 ($60 shipping).

The light itself is one of the JCX Epistar UFO types, mostly for extra red/blue light during vegging and flowering. It's 660nm red and 460nm blue light with a bit of orange thrown in, with approximately 1440 lumens of light output. It's this one. Gonna be putting them on the sides of the tent later in the grow and in the corners at the top for earlier in the grow. Hoping the LED & HPS combination will provide the perfect amount of light :]

I was comparing them to these as well. Bloody £100 something for them ones and they're almost the exact same! I did want a quad-band light or even better, but the red and blue are all I need. HPS provides a whole lot of white and orange light.

I also want to buy some Advanced Nutrients Big Bud solution (or Bud Candy) seeing as I don't have a carboload type solution. I use:

*BioBizz grow
*BioBizz bloom
*Formulex for early plant growth
*Gro-Tek Cal-Plex
*Liquid silicone
*BioBizz Topmax (molasses)
*Sometimes BioBizz root juice

Any suggestions please? Should I get some?
