Which media do you recommend?

I'd add carboload but that's it honestly. I'm not super great with exact percentages but like 50% coco completely flushed and neutral mixed with 25%peat, 25% coco. Check out the website on some the soils I named and see if any give better percentages

I guess they no longer make carboload and replaced it with bud candy, right?
And the soil mix you said means 75% coco and 25% peat moss, right?

They do make carboload. I love that stuff. Other than those you mentioned and carboload I would recommend to use some silicone product like Rhinoskin and ofcourse Bud Factor X.

Cute journal :)
I cant find lava rock here, what can be used instead? And how much perlite on top of a 15L smartpot?

Thank you again for your help
Then just use perlite it will be the same. I only use lava rocks because I got them for cheap and the perlite I would say a good inch and a half.

I dont dare to use dwc on so many plants as i have no experience with it and cant afford to fail a grow. Im too afraid of root rot too :)
Maybe ill try on 1-3 plants.
Any other suggestions?
A chiller will take care of any chance for root rot and an ph perfect nutes makes dwc super easy. I'm growing biggest plant of my life and I don't even check ph at all or change res water. Literally all you do is add water to res every few days and pray your space is big enough for the monsters coming lol.

If you don't want to spend 300 on a chiller I recommend coco/perlite hempy. Also extremely easy and doesn't need a lot of babysitting. Just make sure you pre charge your coco with calmag.

Coco or coco mix is probably going to be the best yielder, generally speaking. But there's one huge issue with coco: unless you can get one of the higher end name brand coco (and even then sometimes), there's going to be a mystery amount of salts build up in the media that must be rinsed out. There's a couple great threads on the process of washing out the salts. If you're just starting out, this might be a big headache, and it can lead to problems for the lifetime of the plant. If the coco says "washed and buffered" or something like that, then it generally doesn't need to be rinsed and rinsing could even wash out the buffers. So it's a tough call.

Not trying to steer ya away from coco, just want you to succeed and coco has some difficulties. :p DWC is probably the method of absolute highest yield potential, but it has some delicate difficulties too.

To be honest It always surprised me to see everyone say Hydro is hard. As someone who has been growing for about two years now I couldn't disagree more. I think it's just different for each person. I never had good results with soil or coco. I've used coco/perlite more than anything else in my 2 years of growing and I ran into problems every single grow. Every single one! lol.

I tried my first dwc bucket a year ago and I ran into some root rot or something at the end of the grow. Even with those root problems I still beat my best yield record and it was bigger than every plant I'd grown before it. For that first dwc grow I used GH flora nutes and I had to check ph 2 times a day and it was annoying but it was easy.

I had total control over everything. No guessing what the hell is wrong with my soil or coco. With hydro it's like you get exactly what you put into it. I started my 2nd dwc grow 45 days ago and this time I'm using AN nutes and I bought a chiller to avoid root problems. It's amazing how simple and easy it is! now I don't check ph nor do I worry about root rot or water temps.

Buying a chiller and going rdwc was the best decision I've ever made since I've started this urban farmer adventure 2 years ago and even on my first try I did better than all my soil and coco grows.

Don't be afraid of hydro. You might just find it easier than anything else, I know I sure do.

Is bud candy better than carboload? Its much more expensive...

Thank you for your time and great help :)
