Okay I'm ready to start my grow finally.
This is my first time, and think the easiest way to germinate is to just drop my beans into the pot and let them go.
They will be in 5gal. pots in a light mix soil. Under 400wt. HPS.

Will this process germinate my seeds?
Or is there better way? Keep in mind, I never grown before so don't want hard steps for vets. Just want to get something going to practice and get better. Help me out family!

Drop in water in shot glass for 24 hours, then plant in soil.

Or...

Put inside damp paper towel inside a zip lock bag and keep in a warm place. After a day or two when the root shows then plant in soil

Or....

Just plant in soil

I've germinated 5 so far with 100% success. I wet some kitchen paper, put them on it and fold it over. Then I put them between two plates and into a warm place, it's always worked for me. Good luck

Thxs guys for all the tips. I have a few different seed so I think I going to try a few of your suggestions and see which works best for me. This again.

Good luck germinating your beans.
I mix it up, lately I've been floating them in water for 24 hours then into a paper towel or coffee filter till I see it splitting open by the root or a root.

I always use the paper towel method. Not because it is any better than any other way, but, I know when there is a tap root. I know that is a good one and I can put it into the pot with confidence. I just stick a matchstick in the soil deep enough to take the taproot and leave the seed head level with the soil and firm it in. I use a spray mister to keep it moist.

I can't take the worry of direct planting....will it....wont it...but that is just me. Just my humble opinion.

good luck chum.................eP.

Most everyone say paper towel or cup of water so I'm going with the majority. Let you all know how it goes.

I utilize the paper towel method. It's important that you don't flood the paper towel. You want it moist, but at the point where the tap root reaches for the water.

I too use the papertowel method, it is tried and true for me, I've had 100% germination rate on 10 beans. I ha e tried planting both with a short and log tap root and if you let the taproot get long it tends to take to the medium the best.
