Best time to collect the pollem from a male plant?

Hi friends
I got two male plants from my friend to collet the pollem. I dont know whats the best time to collect. I have made a pic and hope some one could help me.

If I'm keeping a viable male alive for pollen collection I put the foil around the stem to catch and collect the pollen around the latter part of week 4. They usually don't start dropping hard and heavy till the end of week 5 but better safe then sorry. I've had males drop pollen for 3 weeks. I hope this helped ya a little.

romeo hit the nail, I would add to make sure the pollen has had time to dry out be for you store it.

Just thought I'd throw this back up, you can see the bit's I've circled have split open, that's not to say they had pollen in them but it does mean your in the week or two from it starting to dump pollen all over the place so I'd take Romeo's advice and get your neck ruff ready now

Thanks friends for your help. I collect the pollen and pollinate singel branches of my AutoWhiteWidow and AkAutomatic. I can see the first seeds in the pollinate buds.

The male is a OrangeRyder (Auto) my friend cross a lowrider #2 with a orange bud strain from Dutschpassion. He make the strain stabil over some generations he said.

i will post some pictures of the pollinate buds if my camera is charged.

i have the next question. The singel branch from the AutoWW is pollinated and i can see the first seeds. Should i wait till the seeds drop out of the bud, or should i cut the bud and collect the seeds?

Hi Tobe,

My advice would be to let her go as long as you can, you will get more seeds that are "viable" and not so many immature. You are not going for smoking product, but the seeds right? This means you have to go longer than the reccommended flowering time. At least I have found this to be true with the strains I work with.

Thanks for your help i will wait some more days. I dont want to smoke the bud that i leaf to pollinate you are right! One the pics i made, you can see the first seeds, i pollinate them 30 days ago.

Hi friends
i collect the seeds after the first drop out. Thanks for all your help and feedback. From the AK i got 50 seeds and from the WW i got 10 seeds.
In my next grow i will use some of these and show you some pictures.
