Price: Jacks 321
Simplicity: Canna
Bottled nutrients are a boutique item with extra markup, any granulated/powedered hydroponic nutrient can be used for coco if you dissolve it in water. And the solid stuff is generally cheaper.
But it's also harder to store. These salts suck moisture out of the air and if you don't store them absolutely air-tight you are left with a fun mineral-paste you can't use anymore because you can't weigh them accurately anymore.
So if you use solid nutes: pre-package them in weighed portions for your res and put those into another container to make doubly sure they stay dry as long as possible.
Let's say we use 100L for a plant to grow from seed to harvest here's the _total_ cost of nutrients:
Jacks 321: $ 0.50
Canna A&B: $ 9.00
Now I have to admit that this comparison is not quite fair because.. my calculation for Jacks included things like fulvic acid and all other possible addons you could use for a successful grow while Canna is only including A&B.
You pay for packaging, shipping, handling, marketing, organization and your convenience using it. You can grow pot cheaply quite easily if you're willing to be a tiny bit inconvenienced and pre-package/mix yourself.
