One of my most memorable highs came from a $60 half oz back.in 2001 i purchased from my highschool dealer in the front seat of his Honda Accord as we took a quick cruise around the neighborhood. It was also the first time I had ever seen a giant ziplock bag full of my new favorite plant. I'll never forget my reaction when he told me pull out the bag of weed under the seat I was setting on, I was overly excited to say the least. After he managed to weigh out my bag (while driving a manual) we returned to my house and said our goodbyes. I quickly slipped by my parents avoiding the third degree about suspicious activity and made my way to the rec room in the basement were my brother was eagerly waiting. The bud was green with little hints of golden trics and a few seeds. It was slighty compressed and a little fluffy. After breaking up enough to roll a decent blunt we put in a movie into the VHS (Little Nicky) and lit it up. Now to the point of this thread. The buzz. It was very super euphoric slightly trippy and when little nicky said "popeyes chicken is fuckin awesome" we got lost in laughter for the next hour. My body felt like it was glowing with pure happiness. This is where it gets interesting for me. After the movie ended i could feel the come down setting in. As i was reaching for the leftover blunt all of the sudden a second wave came over me and was almost intense as the first session. When i say a wave I literally mean it felt like a big wave was approaching and then crashed over my body recharging my receptors. This experience continued over the next 3-4 hours with a new wave hitting me every hour or so a little less intense than the one before until the ride had come to an end. My brother said he felt the same way. So the next day we talked about the experience and before taking the ride again I decided to invite over a good friend without telling him about our experience the night prior to see if he felt it too. After a few bong rips and 4-5 hours later he dubbed it the Wave Weed. Till this day we hold the experiences dear to our hearts and have been searching for this strain ever since. My only regret I didnt save the seeds. Has anyone everyone ever had any herb like this? Or Was it laced Perhaps. Please share your best buzz. I'd like to know.

No waves, just a heavy stone....is Afghan Kush Ryder. After many years of imbibing, that strain still kicks my butt-oonski. If I recall correctly, it's around 23%.

In 1978, a guy who worked for turned me on to quarter oz of "alcapulco gold"...toking the herb since 70, I'd never seen weed this consistancy and color...solid ochre with tight buds and a high that...duh...cant remember...lol..not a bunch of ground up street weed. And it set an ongoing goal of finding more which has only come around now and then....until I started growing my own.
Weed is dramatically more potent now but that "alcapulco gold" still stands out.

well, not really...i can tell ya this much tho, pay absolutely no attention to the listed thc levelz, whatever they are, lol...i've toked some 23-25% strainz that ended up bein nuthin special, but then toke a 15% strain that kickz ass...it'z all relative, haha what most people sadly pay no heed to is -> the terpenez...gotta have me linalool! :smoking: ppp

That 'wave weed' phenomena was called 'record playing' in the 70s. The waves would hit you, then subside, then hit you again. My first landlord was the leader of a local bike gang (and general all-around weirdo) but if we paid the rent on time he'd hand you a small bag as a treat. Maybe incentive to get you to pay the rent on time? The most memorable weed I ever had was in 77, it was called 'The Bomb', written on the baggie in huge Sharpie script. It equalled about a gram but it was impossible to get grass around here in those years. Everyone hoarded. Anyway, that night my girlfriend and I drove to a 24 hour grocery, parked out in the lot, and lit it up. If felt as if I was falling out of a plane, before you open the shoot. It was just like curling into a ball and dropping a hundred stories. I looked at my girlfriend and she said, "I'm flying, no I'm falling!" It was Halloween night and I was wearing a top hat....crazy night but I'll never forget that. That 'wave weed' is likely Mexican, that was all the bikers around here could get at the time.

I wish the bank gave out bags of weed for paying my house payment on time . Mexican strain huh. Well I'll have to start looking at some Mexican strains when I purchase more beans. Thanks for the kind and awesome reply.

The Panama Red, Acapulco Gold and Thai Sticks of the 60's were really great but I like the new autos MUCH MORE. Dinafem- Sour Diesel auto, and Amnesia XXL, Mephisto- S.D.O.K, Fugue state, and Fast Buds- Blackberry Kush auto, Auto Zkittlez.

So, just throwing this out there. I'm due to buy more seed. I want a very cerebral smoke. I don't want a heavy body stone. I want something akin to the old school grass that had me up all night writing and thinking. Amnesia is vaguely similar but not it by a long shot. Suggestions?
