New Grower Beginner grow - DP Think Different

I had 7 plants a month behind the rest of mine due to the worst germination rate I've ever had bought more seeds. as I'm on autopots I have one 100l tank that feeds the lot so while the babies were in veg I had some in full bloom I fed the full flower feed with a high ec to all of them some of the 7 babies are the tallest and bigest auto's I've had under led I don't recomend doing this but as luck would have it mine turned out gd but I was checking on them daily for sighs of nutes burn

Day 30. She has definitely started the vertical grow, but it doesn't look to be more than maybe 1-1.5cm per day. I'm still unsure if this is caused by the light distance or just a slow strain in general. I've raised the light a bit ~10cm, I'm going to see how she reacts at 70cm. I feel like the strong light is pushing her back down and is just making her bushier, but then again, I have no experience so all this may be completely normal 30 days in the grow. She is around 19cm tall, so there is definitely more to go if we want to be around 80-100cm the next few weeks.

Water is 200-250ml or so daily. Today I'm making a new batch according to Mr. TanG's schedule, the ratio will go to 2ml nutes / L.
Otherwise, she seems to be in order, more growth on the side branches now.

She is looking good. Nice color, really healthy. Nothing wrong with bumping the lights up a little. I usually start more height around day 28-35 and keep my LED'S around 24 inches until I see vertical growth stop then drop them down to 12-16 inches.

Just something to throw out there....I wonder if humidity plays a large factor in vertical growth? My humidity has always been in the low range 27-40% depending on the season, and I have not really had a plant over 28 inches tall (accept for a Yoda's Dragons Breath and she was a freak anyways :yoinks:).

Ok, that is very similar to what I have then. May I ask what would you say your watt per plant is throughout the grow?

Could be, I read somewhere to keep it in the 70% range for the seedling, and between 30-40% for the rest of the grow, but this could be completely wrong. I'm at 32-40% usually. I do have a dehumidifer, because if I didn't, my room's humidity would be in the upper 70s....

Day 34. Happy Sunday to all growers! :smoking:

Well, seeing the 1cm steady growth this week, I've decided to do a three day test for the never ending battle with my light-height. I wanted to see what happens if I put the light up to max height (per welshboy's comment), and stop messing with it. She immediately started to take off, I'm seeing about 2-3cm per day these past two days. I think this is a good move, but I'll wait to hear what you guys think.

One noticable difference with the light up top is that the leaves are thinner and close up a little, compared to the bottom leaves that are fat and down-curling, fully open. This must be from the light distance change, but perhaps this is okay.

250ml water daily now. Her height is 27cm today.

All the tops are streching up since the light move. The idea of equal spacing is ruined, but I'm afraid if I don't strech her a bit she would never reach 30cm, which I'm not sure what kind of yield would bring...

REALLY healthy looking girl with a nice fat body what you have growing under your hands mr fustipisti !!! :D

Especially your leaves looking extremly shiney and beautifull for a beginner grow, your plant surely having an exceptionally good life imho.

Nice job! Just keep up with the good work mate, in my eyes its structure predicts great yields for you when harvest time is coming so be prepared for a day of hard labour... :muahaha:

Day 36. We are up to 30cm now, which I'm happy about, but I've noticed yellowing leaves on the bottom. I've looked at the deficiency thread in the infirmary, and as far as I can tell this would be Nitrogen deficiency? I'm wondering if I need to supplement the AN Bloom nutes, it could be that I do not have enough N in them

Day 39.

Looks like the N deficiency was the correct diagnosis. Unfortuantely I do not have any AN Sensi grow nutes, so I had no choice but to stop the AN Sensi Bloom and to use Biobizz Grow nutes I do have, until the AN Grow nutes arrive. Because of the deficiency, I've decided not to mess with half doses but to do a batch of water with the full dose Biobizz recommends. It helped - I've found no new yellowing leaves since. Next round I'll be sure to use AN Grow for the veg stage... :wall:

Her height is 36cm this morning, so she grew 9cm the past five days. I guess with having N deficiency, and my messing with the lights too much in the beginning, I'm paying the price in height. Still, I'm happy she continues growing and not stunned completely. I'm not sure how many more days are left before she stops vertical growth completely, but I'm hoping she has a few more days / a week left, that would put her roughly around 45cm or so at this pace, which isn't great but hopefully gives her enough space on the sites to grow some sweet buds.

For now, I'll continue to give her grow nutes + calmag until she stops completely. 300ml daily at the moment.

I think this photo below shows really well at what stage I've moved the lights up to the max height. Up until then, height is short and the leaves are fat, dense, wide. After the light's height increase the spacing tripled, and she shot upwards. I need to make sure that the next grow will happen under static lights at max height, because I bet if I'd had the lights up on max from the beginning, she'd be twice as tall now.
