Day 27. She is drinking 200ml water pretty much daily. Getting bushier it seems, not much in the height department yet, but after Roark's comment about having 90+ days left, I'll stop stressing about height. Looks to be about 1cm growth per day these past two days, which isn't much, but as far as I can tell the energy goes to the side branches at the moment. The light is between 55cm - 60cm, when she reaches the 55cm height I increase to 60cms.
Should I be tucking leaves at this point, or just let her be and do her own thing?
I did nothing but stress with my first auto grow was a first with led's to I've got the 5 watt chips in mine and now I just leave the lights on there maximum height at all times. try 18/6 but they do start stretching once they start flowering it's nuts

Yes, I will definitely do a test with lights at the max. There will be a vacation during my next grow, so I'll put the auto-pots back in place, and just let the light stay on maximum as I won't be around to mess with it. My leds are only 3W, but I've been wondering how much difference moving the light makes. This time I'm following the growth to have a baseline to compared to vs. the steady max height.
18/6 vs 20/4...and even full 24 always on - I wonder if the difference is measurable on the different schedules. That would be a neat test as well at some point.
Ok, so I'm about 8 days behind. Do you count from seed in the water or from breaking the soil?
I checked today, the soil is a bit wet, so I think she is getting a day off from watering today just to catch up a little bit. I'm sure she'll be thursty tomorrow. I see about another 1cm growth, so no explosion yet but she definitely looks like she is getting ready for something.
My only worry after seeing the initial "escape routine" in the beginning that if the light is still too strong at 55-60cms then it may stun the growth and she will just get bushier instead of doing the expected vertical growth, but that may be nonsense.
@fustipisti I count from the time they break soil. I can say that light distance makes a big difference in the height of your plants. I keep raising mine a little bit everyday and they are still growing vertically - almost equal to the amount I raise the light. It's fascinating, really. That said, one of mine is tall and skinny, the other short and bushy so sometimes, you just get what you get.
