SeedBank : Barneys Farm purchased from the "Attitude Seed Bank"
Fem. Seeds.
Did notice it took higher temps. to get this strain to sprout, at least for me and I normally have a 99% germ rate.

Strain: Acapulco Gold photo plant
Christmas Tree shaped plant. I had to LST this one, so total height is off, but around 5'. Also had to tie her up to bring the branches up to my T5 lighting.

Did it autoflower?: No
This strain was chosen by myself, and my intentions are to make it an Auto Strain. When this is done, the new Auto Strain will be called "Auto-Pulco Gold. The cross and the seeds are done. 12-17-2011

Soil/hydro: Fox Farms Ocean Forest
Just a quick note on the soil: I have found this soil to contain gnat larva. But, and I'll say it again, But, with one dose of finely crushed up mosquito larva killer, prior to putting in the plants, takes care of this problem. I love this soil. The PH is already there. You just have to maintain it

Nutes: GH General Organics
Bio Root
Bio Thrive Grow
CalMag supplement
Bio Weed
Bio Thrive Bloom
Bio Bud

Light: T5 HO 8 bulb Fixture 432 watts and supplemented with a TT-105 4 bulb fixture with 420 watts
Both lights were using a bloom spectrum of 2900K
Plant was on 20/4 light for 14 days and then 12/12 from then on

From seed to harvest date: Minus the 14 days of veg. She flowered for 9 weeks
But she was ready in 7 or so. I had pollinated certain branches and was making sure my new seeds finished up

Dry Yeid: ( 157 )g
Now I know this isn't a killer yield, but bud to leaf ratio was the best I've seen in a plant. Plus 2/3 of the buds were nice and fat/tight Also remember, I used basically only T5 HO lighting..

High/Effect Duration (how long did effects last): Gotta say, not for the new smoker...I would also not recommend driving while taking a hit. On exhale, this stuff leaves you mind locked/melted. But when you come back to reality, it's a good cerebral high. Energetic even. Thought provoking.
As far as the duration, I smoke morning, noon, and twice in the evening. Just my routine. But I also mostly smoke hitters. So it only takes 3 hitters, smoked gradually, and your wasted...

In-depth

RATE SCALE: * bad to ***** good: Would give this strain an 8 out of 10

Bag Appeal: * to ***** Great
With nice fat hard buds, this looks great to anybody in a bag, in your hand, it's just got that look....

THE GROWth: * to ***** All levels of experience. Maybe not a newbie/first timer though.
She was a breeze to grow. Except her height. A bit tall for my grow lights. Not my space....

THE SMELL: * to *****Makes you want to shove you nose right through the jar
Kinda has a piney/musky scent after the cure. Growing, now she smelled like a lemon. But that left after the cure. Pleasant to smell. Sorry, I'm bad with smells. :(

THE SMOKE: * to ***** 10 out of 10
She's a pleasure to smoke. Not harsh on the lungs and expands well in the lungs. Course this was grow Organically

THE HiGH: * to *****8 out of 10
I didn't give it a 10 for 10 here because of the very strong brain lock on exhale.

Would grow this strain again. And that say's a lot for me..

Now that's a nice lookin plant cres. Gotta love those Acapulco Gold strains

Cant wait to start workin it, back in Da day there was a strain called beatrix choice from SSSC was one of the best strains ever...period..or top three for me to this day. rock hard buds early outside finish and so sweet...

I'll be crossing to my Mighty Durban tbl twice and will get the finish down to early sept.

I understand those African genetics are a bit special...Been lookin myself here lately for a good photo with them genes... But I'm done with the photo's for awhile. Got plenty of auto strains that need worked on. At least to F-2. I'm trying the F-1 seeds now. Have 4 germing...Auto-Pulco Gold...

I'd just be happy if one auto-ed for me. Male or female. But I suppose that if I had a choice of sex with one plant, I'd hope for a male so I could pollinate the next good auto female with it. IDK. Wish in one hand and shit in the other and tell me which one weights more...

Good smoke report Ripster, I didn't realize anyone was offering pure Acapulco seeds. I look forward to hearing of your progress with the autopulco. What auto line will you be using in your breeding?

Cres, I also grew out Beatrix Choice back in the '80's, and I agree it was fantastic. Very strong up high with beautiful sativa buds that were mold resistant and matured mid September. We kept our select cut for years, and many people grew and passed her around. Friends in California got very excited to get a taste of her, even though they had access to all kinds of herb. The Acapulco was crossed to an Afghani/Durban to make the Beatrix Choice, sold by SSSC. Hope you make some pure Acapulco seeds in addition to your crosses. I would store some pollen for future crosses as well. I've used 3 year old pollen with excellent results.

yup it was a real winner and its gone forever, always wondered how it was early with those genes? I bet it was (NL1xdurban)xAG I have dug up all I can to no end to find out more about beatrix choise and it allways goes to a dead end. Alot of the SSSC was early as they were outdoor breeders from friesland, NL....and that brings us to friesland one incredible strain also from sssc

Yeh, I'm surprised that someone is not still growing it somewhere. It was really easy to clone, and was passed easily to others, so it's a mystery why it's not still around. I seem to recall the description was that it was a stable Afghani/Durban used on one side of the cross, and I always though that was responsible for the earliness. I never tried the Friesland, but I'm glad it is still around, and I'd would be interested in growing a stable inbred line for crosses. The two other standouts from SSSC I tried where Nigerian/khandahar and a super skunky SK#1. Later I was gifted an inbred Durban/thai highflyer male that I used for crosses. All were really good, and I wish I still had them. SSSC offered some really interesting crosses, lots of landraces used.
