SeedBank :

Barney's Farm

Strain:

Sin Tra Bajo Auto (Mazari x Lowrider 1#)

Did it autoflower?:

Yes, at day 30.

Soil/hydro:

11 liter square plastic pots (black), Plagron Light Mix, pre-watered with pH adjusted water.

Nutes:

Biobizz Grow, Bloom, TopMax, Alg-a-Mic and Advanced Nutrient's Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra

Light (kind and schedule):

1x Galaxy Hydro 300W LED on 24/0.

From seed to harvest date: 74 days

Dry Yield: ~180g from four plants, Avg. 45g per plant.

High/Effect Duration:

The initial high last roughly an hour, hour and a half. Depending on the dosage and way of use, the stony sedating effects can last anywhere between 4 to 12+ hours. If used before going to bed, you'll feel extremely refreshed and aware once you wake up.

In-depth

The effects start off quickly with light, relaxing head and body high, which turn after roughly one hour into very sedating feelings of calm. The high begins all over the body with this feeling of lightness, followed by occasional heatwaves in different parts of the body (face, spine, legs). In social conditions, it makes people very relaxed, giggly and sometimes pretty unresponsive. I find the medicinal value of this strain to be high, as it's pain relief is quick and also works on nausea and sleep problems.

RATE SCALE:* - *****
Euphoria: 3,5/5
Medicinal: 5/5

BAG APPEAL:****

Tight, stiff dark buds, intricately woven-through with rich orange pistils.

THE GROWTH:*****

It's an extremely tolerant strain. It went through with extreme heat, wrong water pH for over a month, inconsistent nutrient dosages, underwatering and it still manages to pull through strong. I haven't experienced any rot or pest problems.

THE SMELL:*****

Citrus fruit notes followed by herbal aromas.

THE SMOKE:****

Smooth rich smoke, you can taste some of the citrus fruit while exhaling.

THE HIGH:*****

Energetic initial high followed by heavy stoned, sedated relaxed feelings. Dry mouth and increased appetite.

:d5: That's some fine looking bud mate! Dense, resinous, nice color-- ..great job on the grow too!... they sound spot-on for their parentage- ... I just finished my first Barney's strain, a photo' though-- Acapulco Gold, old school stuff, and very nice! Barney's can be hit and miss, especially with phenotypes... I had 3 plants, all were significantly different. How did your 3 turn out for consistency? ... For better pics, particularly to show off the trich, try using a flash on the camera, in a darker room- :eyebrows: We love our bud-porn around here!
:thanks: Thanks for doing this Smoke Report, Teh'! They are in fact an important resource for folks doing strain research for choices, which is no small thing these days! :help: ...and not all are good,... AFN will help everybody spend their money wisely! :smokeout: :headbang: Cheers bruv! :slap:

How did your 3 turn out for consistency?

First of all, thanks a lot for the praise. I read a lot about some of the Barney's strains and some really have mixed reviews even though they are heavily marketed.

I had four plants in total, all had the same conditions, nutes, watering, light and all shared the same problems... they were pretty consistent, but in the end I had to split them to two groups, two were late with clear trichomes and the other two were already hitting 90% cloudy / 10% amber. (which is what I was aiming for, more CBD).

:smoking: good to hear, and you're quite welcome! With seeds, there's always going to be some pheno' drifting, just the nature of the beast so to speak,... The challenge to achieve good stability and quality is vastly underestimated by most folks,... and when a breeder is just hacking around, it'll show up clearly and often! Stay away from their Sweet Tooth line, it's consistently shown to be lousy-.. makes you wonder WTF is going on with some breeders, even old long established ones like Barney's Farm,... Other strains of theirs get high praise-- LSD, Vanilla Kush, even the peculiar Dr. Grinspoon,... hence, the worthiness of the Smoke Reports and grow journals!

Hey...thanks so much for taking the time to do this review. Smoke reports are so helpful, especially for those with chronic pain ect. Great job. Hitting you with a shot of rep for the efforts, thanks again

I grew out justa single plant from Barneys so far the Auto Blue Mammoth. It was almost like she struggled to get into flower while the natural outdoor light regime was increasing. She did turn into a nice plant though and I pulled 100 grams on the knuckle out of a spot with ess than 6 hours of direct sun. She was a monster 54" man stalk by the time she was harvested at 102 days. She could have went to 110 easily, but mold was beginning to be an issue.

I need to get more space to try out all these strains :D. But yeah, it's all about the consistency of the product but I'm not surprised that Barney's has a slip from time to time, but like you say, one would think they'd be able to spot the problems from miles away given their experience in the field.

Thanks, I'm happy to help the community. I have made a tincture using trim and decarbed grinded-up buds (roughly 15g) from this Grow and gave it to my mother and grandma (both have chronic pain) and it works flawlessly. I let it all sit, in a big glass bottle (that I bought in IKEA) full of Alpa Francovka, for week and a half, shaking it every day and then I refilled the empty bottles of Alpa to store it.

The Sin Tra Bajo AF looked like it's taking it's time, but then it exploded in the last two weeks into their "final form" :D

:smoking: @912GreenSkell -- you my friend are a monster factory! ..gotta catch up with you on your harvest impressions, especially the Think Fast... :eyebrows: ..... gawds, tell me about it on the fekkin' mold! -- that shit chased me outta the season this year big time- :cuss:

>> TehSnow-- The choices for good strains is huge these days, but from what I've seen, the best in quality all around has been Mephisto, Sweet, Dutch Passion and FastBuds,... Mephisto is amazing, still a tiny company with giant skills and stellar genetics! :hump:

Haha thanks man...I really need to get it together and do full med reports on the various strains I did this summer. There is going to be some very high marks for sure, especially in the think fast. Surprised to not see Dinafem and Bomb seeds on your list!
