Autos that stay small

Hi everyone,

In your experience, what are the strains that stay small to fit a 80x80x180 cm tent ?

I'm currently growing 4 plants in that space, unfortunately I didn't pay enough attention to the strains I was given...

One of the girl is a Royal Dwarf auto and she stands by her name, no problem.

There is also an Amnesia Haze auto that doesn't seem to end her stretch lol !
I tried to crop her a little but as first time grower I'l a little scared to hurt her...

For my next run I would like to select bushy strains. Any input ?

Happy growing !

You can also use restrictive potting to keep autos smaller. I like to grow in 1-liter airpots and solo cups. I'm using coco, and I bottom-feed everything together. I have a 60x60x165 cm tent, and with 1L airpots I can usually keep each plant within a 30x30 cm footprint, though I occasionally need to supercrop upper branches to keep them from stretching too close to the light.

Thanks for the input !
I've so much to learn lol
Will have to search for solo cup (no idea of what it is)...
Bottom-feeding also is something I don't know a thing about ^^
Lots of research to do !

Hi there. I have a similar tent and have six plants there at the moment. All are in one gallon pots which is about a third of the pot size I normally use. If you top them early on that encourages bushy growth rather than going tall especially when you do some lst on them too. Best of luck :toke:

Hi and thanks for the input. 6 plants ! wow that is giving me hope for my next run !
May I ask which strains you're growing ?
About the bushy plants : today I run 2 little fans from above, because I had a little problem of brownish pistils due to the air flow hitting her too hard. But with a bushy plant, how to insure a good aeration under the plant, if the fans are blowing from above ?

So I have 3 x northern lights. I x amnesia and 2x strawberry nuggets. The only one I’ve topped is the lower middle one. I use a tower fan that oscillates.

I also have a 80x80x160cm tent. Anything with haze in the title you will need to LST or supercrop in that tent, scrog etc. Personally I only put 2 plants in. I used to put in more, but could not be bothered with all the additional space issues. 2 plants x 16lt pots (soil) = Full tent & not over crowded. You have LED lights though, whereas I use a 250w HPS, so you may have a better light footprint.

As for strains, I put in anything I like the sound of. What you need to do is get Super cropping or topping etc, and there's nothing you can't grow.

Yes that was my first mistake : not checking that Amnesia Haze is sativa dominant... lesson learned lol

Is there a tutorial on AFN to learn how to do proper super cropping ?

As Frank already mentioned strawberry nuggets. It's a great strain for bushing out and staying vertically challenged. A challenging plant to train however. Stems get super thick really fast and so does the foliage. Canuk seeds amnesia stays very compact with super fat buds and tons of the fattest trichomes I've seen on a plant. I would set a bud on my desk and it looked like crumbs falling off.

This is my Skywalker Haze grown in a 16lt pot. 2 of those will fill your tent, which at 160cm is just tall enough & yes she was supercropped.

This should get you going, and there's a vid at the end. UTube is full of supercropping vids. It's a bit scary at first, but once you get over yourself & begin to see the results it becomes second nature. LST or Low Stress Training is another one I like to do, again worth a search.
