Grow Mediums AutoPots and just clay pebbles and nothing else.

I am unable to stabilize the PH in those dirty dirty clay balls. They may hold too much ph inside the balls. So when I water the adjusted PH 5.8 water over the top of the pot the run off is still 6.8-7.1 PH. She is starting to fade, I know she is not growing any more. yellowing leaves So I will close this thread and say it was all too much hassle and work. I use Auto Pots as I am very lazy. Other may try iy and it works.

So I will wait until a landscaping yard is open and I will get some lava rock, 1 ton for $120.00, err I will need to see their minimum order.

Sorry to hear that your experiment did not work out. I am a bit familiar with that...

This is what the test lady looked like. after 14 days. Remember I was unable to stabalize the PH.

And this is why I like to use a rock wool cube as well as a Root Riot. The cube does not send out a tap root. It sends out "spider web" roots and that is what I want. She was sending her roots into the clay balls. This is where I was unable to neutralize the clay pebbles thus leading to poor growth. Damn she was trying real hard.
