You guys have got me very interested in buying autopots. I would like to use smaller pots. I know they have a 2.2 gal system but feel they are positioned to close to one another....then thought about buying the 2 pot 3.9 system and using my 2 gallon smart pots in them.
Can this be done and have you any experience doing this?
Were the results any good?

The 2.2g (8.5l) pots can used in the same trays as the 3.9g (15l) trays. I have both size pots and the bottoms are the same size. The trays are interchangeable. Check out my current grow where I am using the 2.2g pots in the 1Pot trays.

For what its worth ---I called autopots--- they said you can use smart pots in their trays as long as it fits inside.....hmm another option/variable for growing.

I'm thinking of buying the 2 pot 3.9 system and running some 2 gallon smart pots in them...just to save some cash ...i've so many smart pots on hand.

i have seen a few adverts that they have used an airpot aswell,i dont know what size though.
:pighug:
I was at a Canna convention last weekend and saw a smart pot in a autopot tray...i neglected to ask the rep. If it could be done...i dont see why not.

I wonder if the benefits of smart pots (air pruning, more oxygen to substrate) would be noticeable in that system compared to the hard plastic pots. And would an airdome work differently inside smart pots?

I got to check if my fabric pots will fit nicely in to the 1pot trays and try them out if its a fit.

I wonder if any of the nutes and minerals etc got filtered out by the fabric. The stuff has to get up in to the inside of that fabric thru the bottom because now its not being watered from the top. I would think wicking would be ok. And AP must have tested all this stuff already.
