okay so has anyone ever had seeds germing in a paper towel on a heating pad and had the towel start to steam well i might be the first idiot to do so and now i think i just steamed my beans i had four in the paper towel. two began to pop then the steam hit and thye havent changed. the other two are yet to open. any advice? i think i might have just muffed my self pretty good.

yeah, im new at this too, but all the research ive done said absolutely NO heating pad...it just needs to stay warm, moist and dark, not hot. i put mine between wet paper towels, two plates, wrapped the plates with plastic wrap, then put a long piece of black electric tape around the plates, where they meet, to block off any potential light that may still be getting in..my first time, i had 100% germ rate, now theyve been planted, and they ALL look great, vibrant and healthy. im on day 3 of growth. while they were germing, i just kept them in my grow room with the lights on, this kept them warm enuf..i have been worried sick ever since the seeds have been in paper towel, but everything is working great! (knock, knock)

don't sound good... you might want to drop them into soil and see what happens..

DAY 3 (3).jpgDAY 3 (2).jpg

These were taken this morning..(3/19) two of my four afghan kush ryder's. they were born on st. paddy's day! this is from the method i used above

Last thur i place 5 royal dwarfs in a wash clothe at 9 am, placed them into a black turkey roast pan.Put the lid on and sat on top of the fridge. It is always warm up there. Friday afternoon at 3pm i placed all 5 germinated seeds in there cups filled with coco. Again 100% germ from royal queen! also popped 1 dinafem cheese and 1 john sinclair sativa trans-love.

Warm is relative mine are just on cup board shelf who's temps easily range from 40f-65f and I get lots of fine germination with these temps. I'm sure a little warmer and I'd do a little better but easily at an over 80% in low temps. Save the heat mat for rooting clones.

i put two ofem in dirt two days ago hitting it with 18 hours of light led and cfl and havent seen squat. i think im boned...50 bucks and one week down the drain ... i mena whenn the towel steamed it wasnt like out of controlit was fairley fiant but obv it shouldnt be near that temp so idk i gotem on a paper towel incase the stunned form temprature changed or somehting just in case but im pretty sure there done-zo
