I always heard the same thing, and even did so (no ph'ing) for a period of time with my photoperiods. I only restarted ph'ing the water and nutes when I started doing auto's, to eliminate problems and enhance success. Without ph'ing, using the RO water and MC with BE and SC, I sometimes have readings in the low 5's. So I ph-up to 6.0--6.5 now.
