Looks like it might be N deficiency. I grow in soil so have no real knowledge of coco, but I believe coco doesn’t hold many nutrients so you need to add some at a low level from day 1. I’m sure a coco grower will be correcting my lack of knowledge imminently!
I’d repost this in the infirmary for an expert to look at. Maybe this might help too:View attachment 1156955
I did "pre charge" my coco to about 100 ppm I didn't give them any carbs but everything else yes. I may try a foliar feeding. I realized I didn't add calmag to the coco. My bites has 8t in it but not enough imo.I generally 'pre-charge' coco/perlite with about 1/4 the normal usage dosage (not the manufacturer's recommendation), along with a little cal-mag (plus beneficial microbes, Rhizotonic or other root booster, and about 1/2-dose kelp extract, carbs (Carboload or molasses) and humic/fulvic acid). Plus, sprouts get whatever all-purpose (vs. fixing a problem) foliar feeding (using Transport) is being sprayed.
Thanks, I'm starting to lean towards a magnesium def. I realized I forgot to supplement that into my coco mix smhLooks like it might be N deficiency. If your coco was pre-buffered, I doubt that mag deficiency would show up yet, which might suggest nitrogen deficiency - perhaps 90ppm is a bit lean for coco. If the coco was not buffered, you will have to use cal mag aggressively, and may still not defeat the way coco eats calcium and magnesium, especially with RO water and under LED.Thanks, I'm starting to lean towards a magnesium def. No it's just canna coco. I expanded it using fertilized 5.8 ro water. I used megacrop which doesn't have enough cal/mg imo. Gave a feeding today with some calmag added. If your coco was pre-buffered, I doubt that mag deficiency would show up yet, which might suggest nitrogen deficiency - perhaps 90ppm is a bit lean for coco. So, for now a couple questions, was the coco buffered, and are these your final pots?
I had a look at the Canna website, and it says that the brick coco is buffered, so you should be good to go, but you will need to keep using at least a bit of cal mag. OTOH, you may already be on top of this, so please take no offense. No it's just canna coco. I expanded it using fertilized 5.8 ro water. I used megacrop which doesn't have enough cal/mg imo. Hell no they're not final pots lol. I've always gone straight to the finals so I thought I would give starter pots with a transfer a try. Going with 3 gal fabric pots. These girls shan't be big enough for my normal 5's I use for the big big Dutch passion girls.
I pay the extra for canna due to their extensive washing of the medium. Didn't know they buffer. So you may be on the money with N def and not calmag. @sleeper1sounds like you may have been right. I appreciate and constructive criticism/advice. Good luck with the grow.
