That's in cartoons, lol they come up bent over then straighten up in the light. If they stretch and get gangly , you can add some soil around the base to help support them.

Oh Ive never heard of that, all my Google results say they should come up straight and to add soil and prop them up if they bend.
Cheers for letting me know

Excess water will cause epic problems. Even DWC only works because of the air stone. Highly oxygenated water. In soil it's the easiest to mess up....this is where Perlite really shines, it allows you to run more water through them. You can literally add as much as you want. Some of the nastyness you don't want: Root Rot, which is a death sentence, Damping Off Disease, Mold. All kinds of problems that are impossible or very difficult at best to fix...and with autos being "on the clock" since birth...you can't afford to be spinning them wheels. Less water > More water. Always. Plants will clearly let ya know when they need a drink....they are much more subtle about drowning though. Get used to the weight of the containers so you can easily tell the water situation. I don't like soil probes as they damage roots. Period. And roots are EVERYTHING, especially with short ass autos. You can use a scale to make things easier. With tiny plants it's not so bad, but when they get big it's nice to tell quick what's going on underground. You can also use 'Airdomes' with a fish tank air pump in the bottom of your containers when setting em up. The airdomes get oxygen down there which allows significantly more water to be present and still let the roots take up that precious oxygen.
