Dinafem Auto Industrial CBD in SuperSoil

If you can get 700-1000 umols on lower bud sites (which is optimum without CO2), than 40 inch above where is main cola it would be 2000 umols I guess. And that is way too much.
Sometimes when I grow a big tree and the main stalk is so much taller than the rest I'll hang a big fat washer from my light right in the center. Then it'll shade that Center bud a little bit cuz it'll blow around in the breeze from my fans it does let light through but it works real effectively for getting penetration down lower when you're too powerful on the top.

You guys gave me some great pluses and minuses! Thanks for the support!!

In my experience @MoreBerry , the IPCBD doesn't require LST.
The height isn't an issue, and the structure is open enough to allow light penetration through to the area normally reserved for popcorn.

I've only grown 3 of them, but what I can say is that EVERY bud was a 'keeper'.
Seriously.

That's what I was most in awe of with this strain.
EVERY bud was resinous and hard.
I did not lose a single bud due to being too airy or under-developed.
Not one bud was thrown away over the three plants.
Take from that what you want.

The caveat is I did defoliate to allow improved penetration.

Horses for courses - I'm a fan of LST - but didn't need it for these girls.

That is some great news! I should have a comparable amount of light to a 600watt HPS as well (although you had 4x600 watts for yours )

Whether or not you train is going to be predicated upon how strong your lights are. If you grow the IP CBD to its potential it'll be 36 to 40 inches tall and about the same diameter. I agree with what's been said before there's plenty of space to get good light down onto the buds. So if you can get enough intensity of light 3ft down your plant then training is not required. I usually just pluck off leaves on the faster growing tops to slow them down.

My lights are definitely strong (8 - 50watt cobs for 6 plants, plus 2 140watt LED panels) and they have proven to penetrate well in my grows (short plants) and in other grows. But... At the same time, light definitely loses intensity as it travels.

We should be in the 700 to 1000 range with my setup on top of the canopy, not getting there at the bottom of a 40 inch plant though. I will definitely use my blurple lights as side lighting. I will probably pick 2 favorite plants and aim them in their direction.

Sooo.... it is looking like MBAP and IPCBD are gonna get the side lights :woody:

And.... :naughtystep::naughtystep::naughtystep: LST!

I am gonna need to start soon, she is getting a thick stalk already

PLANT UPDATE!
Day 16 (edited- I got high and can't count)

Looking mega healthy and growing 2nd fastest in the tent now (2nd to the stretchy hydro plant). Still the largest/widest in the tent too!
She received around 500 to 700ml of RO water + calmag 5 minutes ago.

I also turned on my other set of COBs this morning. So, we are at 400 watts of COBs and should be in the sweet spot for light. Might be a little too much light for all of them, but I am impatient. Light are still 30"s away.

Lights
Currently running 500 watts of 1212 citizen COBs. Still at 30 inches

Water/Feed/Nutes
Watered tonight. Between 500 and 700ml of RO water. Added organic CalMag and carboload. 224ppm.

pH

6.26

Air Temp
Stable in the low 70s up to 84

Humidity
25% to 40%

Looking very good so far and some excellent advice from the community

Personally the industrial plant auto CBD does not grow to tall like our xxl line but some let will definitely help maximise the lumens you have which should help beef out those lower bud sites :pass:

So far real nice work and we hope things are still progressing well?

Great detailed updates please keep them coming and thank you for the added pictures very much appreciated!

All the best

I am actually working on an update as we speak!!

Been extra busy with work and also trying to combat some root issues in DWC... Steep learning curve!

Plant update!
Loooong overdue... Been busy with life and a finicky DWC
Day 25 - Industrial Plant CBD

Key updates...
  • She has been 100% healthy and growing with vigor
  • She is much more bushy than I had anticipated
  • Her stem and leafs are much larger than all of my other plants (blackberry kush, skyrone, MBAP, NCH)
Sorry for the long lapse between posts... I was spending my free time working on fixing my DWC. Regular updates will start happening again!...
This plant is the plant I am most excited about in this grow now, so I will include extra updates for her!

Lights
Currently running 400 watts of 1212 citizen COBs, at 50 watts each. 8 COBs total. 3000k 90CRI, and 3500k 90CRI. I just measured her and the lights are 23 inches from the top.
I have been running the 150 watt fixture at night only, to save on AC costs. Additionally, the tent isn't full, so I don't think I really need it yet.

Water/Feed/Nutes
She has been getting between 1-2 liters of RO water every day or two. Adding in Si Armour (silicon product), Organic CalMag, CarboLoad, and Recharge. Making sure to keep an eye on nute tox!

Air Temp
68 to 82 (past week's average variance)

Humidity
35% to 52% (past week's average variance)

Soooo... Here are the photos!!

She is a BUSH!

Sorry for the lack of updates guys... @KonopCh @Dinafem-Mark @jingo
I hate when people are inconsistent! So I promise I will continue the consistent updates :smoking:

Here are some 'team' photos!

IPCBD is on the right in this photo. Behind her is the tallest plant, a 14 inch BlackBerry Kush (25 days old).
This photo shows the leaf size difference... IPCBD has 5 to 6 inch long leafs.

Looking real healthy [emoji106] I used to do dwc before coco and have kept up the same nutes. What kind of difficulties were you having?

Thanks Jingo!

I was trying to solve an algae problem and I was well on my way, but my MBAP needed a few more res changes and constant supervision... I couldn't give it to her, so she started dying. She is tiny compared to the other plants because of this :frowny::frowny::frowny:
The brown algae was very hardy and tough to get rid off. It seemed to be living in the clay pebbles and netpot.

I made 2 mistakes...
  • I didn't clean my clay pebbles adequately after my photo grow (it had a known root issue, but under control).
  • My reservoir was more opaque than I thought and it was letting it light through the sides. I foiled it after two weeks of letting light through constantly.
For my coco, I am purely running organics from GBD and then supplementing with some organic calmag, silicon, and micro-organisms. If I checked out your IP-CBD prior to starting mine, I might have opted to run straight coco with nutes, but I decided on the organics path because it is so much easier. I have been short on time lately, plus I am taking a vacation, so I needed a light touch grow! I also wanted to see if organics tasted better (I am a skeptic).
