New Grower Auto#1 DWC, Blackstar 180W LED & 150W HPS

hey bro read your intro and was checking out your grow. You can use garden ties to ponytail your tops to allow light in and stimulate inner growth, but only do it a no more than 4 hours per day for a few days. You can also tuck fan leaves under stems ect... to allow more light in ... N4W :peace:

:coffee2:Aloha chuck~
Nice lil set up you have there especially that dual lighting, I was wondering about that myself.
Is it me or does that lady seem pretty large for a "dwarf strain"? She is beautiful! I'm happy to take a seat for the rest of the journey.

@Need4Weed: I thought about ponytailing or lsting the main stem but it's getting quite stiff at this point and I wouldn't want to do something stupid like snapping her. I should receive on Monday 3 x T5 with 2700K bulbs. I plan on surrounding her with side ligthing and promote inner growth that way. I've also been tucking fan leaves and it did help.

@Hapa: thanks for the good words, the HPS light was added at the last minute: my room temp was too cold when using my LED only so I thought of adding it. She loves it even though this means more work (gotta rotate that baby 2-3 times a day). I don't know much about that strain, the seed bank says it's a dwarf hybrid of Lowryder and an unknown sativa strain. Average height should be 20 inches, mine is already 21 inches but growth has slowed down in the last couple days. If I had done everything right from the start (overfed her in the first weeks, got pythium, heat stress, gave her bloom nutes too early...), she'd be 30-35 inches at this point.

Take a seat and buckle up, I can't promise it'll be a smooth ride but it'll be interesting for sure :)

New pics to be uploaded on Monday with my T5 set up!

Lol that is alot of watts In in small space..... respect bruv I also have a tent that size and if you don't mind i'm going to watch this one finish.

@minime: yup, I discovered that I have the light greedy gene... I always try to put more in there. It can be challenging at times though: my 6'' exhaust fan works hard to keep things under 80 degrees. I can't imagine growing in there during summer time. I might drop the HPS from June to September and only use LED and T5s. It's unfortunate to grow in such a small space but I chose to go stealthy vs using a larger tent. Which is why I am trying to maximize the yield I can get from that 4 square foot area. What's your experience growing in a DR60?

Quick update - Day 42 from germination

Vertical growth has slowed down a lot (now at 22 inches). She didn't seem very happy with the amount of O2 she was getting from my Tetra 10 gallon air pump/one airstone so I upgraded my setup to a 60W 1100 gph commercial air pump w/ 2 large airstones. She now has the nicest root spa in town and has been thanking me by blooming at an amazing speed. Commercial air pumps can be a little noisy but this is BY FAR the best move I have done so far: root mass must have doubled since then. After dealing with high res temps, pythium and what not... I finally understood the benefits of pumping lots of O2 in there..!
:Brain Fog..:

A few questions for you dear followers:

- Shouldn't I start seeing trichomes on the sugar leaves and flowers at this point? I haven't seen any yet and, to my surprise, she barely smells anything. I would describe it as a faint earthy/organic smell.
- Humidity: I wanted to have your POV on RH at this point of the bloom. I've read quite a lot about that but have seen anything from 20% to 60%. I've lowered it from 70% to 50-55%; she's still growing a little so I don't want to stress her but at the same time the last thing I want is bud rot... Any recommendation?

oh, and I still haven't received my T5s yet... Side lighting will have to wait a few more days...

Update - Day 55

She is doing great and packing weight. Have never seen a plant drink so much water (1-2 gallons per day). She is definitely an easy strain to grow: barely no smell, resists to heat/nute stress (I went as high as 1200 ppm and it felt like she was asking for more which is quite unusual for an autoflower).

I am starting to plan the final phase here and need your advice: according to your experience and based on those pics, how many days left before flushing? Seed bank says she should be ready to harvest withing 60-70 days. I am not looking for a couch lock effect here but don't want to cut her too soon. I have a 60x microscope but am lacking experience.

Btw, these burnt marks are from my T5s... She got a little too close and learned it the hard way...

Any help/advice would be really appreciated!

:kusht:aloha chuck~
lookin GREAT! and so so close to a "chop"? now that is exciting!
can't help you on the chop-timing, but I have heard that the seed banks' harvest times don't always work out.

can ya just go by the trichs or are autos different?

I wouldn't dare even grow a straight up sativa hearing about how those flowers ripen...
plus the height and all.

mega-green-mojo your way!
