Grow Mediums Attempting 2nd Grow for the 4th time :)

The cal/Mag does not turn roots brown I am using the same and my roots are white as snow.
I apologize someone told me the hydroguard causes browning and of course my floranova is dark brown and I've read that causes staining. I don't care that they are brown or white or blue as long as they are healthy

Day 24
Temp average for 77f
Rez temp 70
Humidity average 45
Light height 18in
PPM's were 1100 now 1050 and holding

So here is a pic of the girl 20160419_202632.jpg 20160419_202610.jpg
So she looks healthy. Right now I have the light schedule still on 20/4. The air conditioner runs for 30 min every 4 hours except when the lights are off. It runs for the first 30 min lights off. The temp fluctuates from 79f to 73 throughout the day lights on. And 64f lights off. The humidity during lights on is 45 and lights off it jumps to 65. I'd be concerned but it's only that high for 4 hours. 20160419_204432.jpg

She drank about a quarter gallon today too black line was where I filled her at 4 gallons 2nd black line is20160419_203537.jpg

yeah I was going to ask about the browing of the roots but as long as it's not slimey and smells like earth or dirt and not like rotten material you are good. Looking like a great grow and your attention to environmental variables is great!

Thank you very much. I've been trying hard because I want this grow to work finally, I'm tired of restarting lol. The bucket smells like a greenhouse no foul smell or slime.

Now before I update which will be below I have some questions. My plant has drank half a gallon since Sunday night so 3 days straight. The pH has not moved from 5.8 which is good, however when the bucket was first mixed ppms were 1100 Monday and Tuesday it was 1050, today they are 1080. Should I dilute now, wait and see if it goes up more in 12 hours or leave her alone until Sunday and adjust ppms. Or Sunday dump whole rez start fresh from 4 gallons

Day 25
Ph 5.8
Temp 80 high 70 low
Humidity 40
Rez temp 73
PPM's up 30 to 1080
As per a member I raised my grow light doom 17 inches above the plant to 24 only because he expressed that my node spacing may be too tight and she won't stretch when it's time and I could have mold issues. We will see what this does. Also looking healthy to me still a couple spots here and there but overall plant health is good. I'm not noticing a difference from Sundaya pics to today in size but I could just be me. I'm hoping she fills out this tent soon.

I top off my bucket and adjust my ppms twice a day. My last 2 plants were pulling at least a gallon every 24hours. Dont fall into the while changing rez once a week deal. I did maybe 3 bucket changes on my last grow and pulling nearly half a pound. Bucket and plant seemed much more stable.

Why would you adjust the ppms so often how do u get a stable reading I feel I'd be chasing over and under nuting.....when you top off do you do it once ur down a gallon or u just top off every day no matter what. When you top off u use plain water or nute solution cause I have no way to store a pre-made gallon of nutes

The secret is knowing your system like your girls ass! When you have a root ball the size of a basket ball in your bucket you will see the effects of 1 gallon of solution missing and you too will find yourself topping off more. On my bubble bucket grows once I am at maximum level in my bucket which is 2" from the top of the bucket after 12 hours the level will have dropped to the point of uncovering the top of the root ball. I never pre mix nutes. Again it's a matter of knowing your system and knowing what does what in it. I add water to my bucket to top off. I check my bucket's PPM level then add water to the level I am at that point in the grow. I let it bubble away for a couple of minutes to mix then take a PPM reading of the refilled bucket. I have a pretty good grasp on how much of each nute I need to get back to the starting PPM level I want. Never have had a problem with over nuting' and of course you can't under feed this way because after a few minutes of mixing in the bucket if your PPM reading is low keep adding!

But for now since she is taking hakf a week to do a half a gallon I can just let her drink the solution down to 2 gallons or so and then refill

I top off and adjust ppm and ph whenever the res is down 1 gallon. Don't sweat the minor swings of ppm you are experiencing. Usually, i change water once a week. With all the chemicals you are adding to the nutrient solution, you do not know which ones the plant is consuming. and what chemicals are being left behind and you are only measuring total dissolved chemicals. Without a water change and continual topping and adjusting total ppms you might end up with a nutrient solution that is weak in the chemicals the plant is using and strong in the chemicals is not. I have heard that you should change nute solution when you have replaced the resevoir capacity. In other words. if it takes 5 gallons to fill the res when you have replaced 5 gallons it is time for a water change.
I do not mean to get in an argument with hotbunz, just expressing a different opinion. As long as it all works it is all good.
Your plant is looking very good by the way. Keep up the good work and get ready for some explosive growth.
