Arrrrgghhh help please!!

Is it only the big fan leaves that are having this problem? If so, then it may be that the plant is starting to finish off. As the plants mature they start to use the stored energy in the leaves. When that happens the leaves will turn yellow and die off. It's the normal process.

A pH of 7 is high for what appears to be a peat based, or soil less, mix. 5.8 - 6 would be better.

Not the fan leaves, mainly leaves round the top of plant... But spreading quickly! Going to try and give her a cal/mag sup and see if that helps. Thanks for your help muddy will re test soil/ run off water. Would it be worth treating all plants with a dose of cal/mag just in case it could that be bad if they don't need it?

Just done the soil test saying ph7

Just a quick suggestion... If you got that 7.0 pH reading from a "soil" pH meter, check it in some other soil and make sure it's not giving a 7.0 reading in all soils. One of the main complaints I've seen about these "soil" pH meters is that they get "stuck" on a 7.0 pH reading. As Muddy says, that's a pretty high pH reading for a peat based mix.

Got it from a soil testing kit... Hear they arn't very good but thought give it a try. Mix soil/solution/powder and judge by colour

I'd definitely do a runoff test. I had a soil meter and test kit both indicate my soil was in the 6.5 to 7 range. I suspected that couldn't be right since my fan leaves were spotting and drying up. When I did a run off test with 6.8 water, my pH meter showed 5.2! So the soil was probably even lower meaning I'd been in lockout for a while. Not saying you've got the same problem, but I'd make sure the plants can even use them before putting more nutes in the soil.

Let's give Muddy a chance to check in and see what he suggests for a fix.

Out of curiosity, what should the pH be of the runoff in a healthy soil system? I don't use soil, but in case anyone asks I could have a quick answer :)

Water going in is 6.8, runoff 6! Prob about a third of the pistols turning orange of the upoer buds, does that mean I'm a week or 2 off? Will get some pics up in a bit

I'm pretty sure that in a perfect world: water in: 6.5pH, soil mix: 6.5ph, runoff: 6.5ph

Those pH numbers really don't sound too bad to me... still a little low. Let's see what Muddy and the pics tell us. The pistils turning orange doesn't necessarily mean much.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, 6.0 is a pretty low runoff number. Let's see what Muddy has to say. He'll be by soon enough. :peace:

EDIT again LOL: Jackal, I was editing my post when you posted. LOL But, seriously, I agree it's not low enough to get stressed about.

I was thinking the same thing Joe, not bad at all.
