Also - the humidity in my drying box is 75% with extraction fan running. Should get better after weather clears up. Is that a big risk for bud rot?

They are ready, but you could also leave longer. I have personally had to do a half chop due to imminent bud rot, then I let the rest go for another 5 weeks. There was no difference that I could tell by smoking. You could chop half now and then after a week do another half and a final chop a week later. The purpose of this would be for your own empirical information. Otherwise you'll always wonder if you would have got any benefit leaving it longer, or if you leave it longer you'll always wonder if it was necessary. This way you get direct knowledge based on your own experience which is worth a lot more than 100 opinions.

Thanks very much. Since I am doing a staggered harvest I am going to chop a bunch of the mature top ones off and start with the dry and cure. I have had bud rot on 2 of the bcn critical but not on this strain. The buds are not as dense.

Yeah, I've been very lucky with bud rot, due to me alway admiring the girls, then I'll suddenly spot something that looks a bit suspicious, maybe it's some fuzzy white hairs, or maybe it's something that looks like fuzzy white hairs but is a bit of early fungus fuzz. Many times I've gone straight to it, then panicked and gone over the whole plant, but I always manage to catch the one spot where it starts. If you watch for the telltale fuzz, you'll never progress to actual bud rot. But if I see anything I always think it's best to go early rather than trying to squeeze an extra week, but rot can happen very fast.
