Even nuttier idea to toss out...probably a good reason why it doesn't work or they would be in widespread use but I wonder if anyone has every tried using a food dehydrator on a lower temp setting to quick dry bud. :baked:
sounds good, I use the oven pilot light in a small propane stove, take sample out before completely dry to finish in air, puff in 3 hrs

Still in research, reading, and brainstorming mode for the whole frosin testing project. Came up with an idea and wanted to run something by the group...

Has anyone every tried out something called a "dry ice cure" to basically semi-quick freeze dry some bud?

I hadn't seen anything about buds before now, but the tech used in this link sounds reasonable:

(Maybe you've seen it already though.)

Due to the impossibility of finding dope around here we use every scrap we grow for hash etc. so I do a lot of cryo-extracting from fresh leaves, but I've never used the heat press tech.
When I do cryo-ex it is to keep everything that is water soluble frozen. I mainly use 99.5% Ethanol that is well below 0 Celsius (NOT De-Natured, and NOT Methanol!!! Although you need Methanol for making shroom crystals hehe) to do a simple solvent wash, basically it is a "QUIETH" I guess.

But sometimes when I have plenty I bring hash into the lab and refine it more and get kind of a low-grade shatter.

If moisture is the only problem, than a freeze dry should fix it, but if not can you heat press using cooking paper?
Since it is non absorptive you could collect the rosin/water together and do a vac-dry maybe?

Yeah, I use a fast dry to get my first test buds done, but it still takes 3 days lol.
I have used a vacuum press to totally dry in like 30mins but it tasted like lawn clippings.

Yea, that link is the primary source I've found with the dry ice cure info. The heat press is being done using parchment paper, but it's just soo much water in it that it still turns the paper soggy and gets absorbed. I'm using the unbleached stuff from the organic grocer to be extra careful about avoiding silicon lined stuff, but I've got a roll of the white Reynolds stuff around I could try.

Thinking of running by the sporting good store tomorrow, picking up a paintball CO2 tank and remote tube thingy for it and making a little dry ice to test out freeze drying some of what I've still got in the freezer the way that site outlines with the Tupperware.
