I've found canna plants can handle wide diurnal temp swings. As long as they don't have to endure long periods of time below freezing. This will slow things down some, but I can't tell if it compromises bud quality. May even make it stronger smoke!
I guess if there's only one thing you can grow, cannabis should be the one! :smoking:5th attempt at growing non canna plant = fail.jalapeno peppers this time.

in a dry climate 2" of foam will add a lot of protection when you needYep photoperiod canna for sure, I am of the philosophy that any stress in autos causes them to basically stunt in some form or fashion. I am trying to stay between 70 and 80 at all times. Now that may prove to be very difficult as it does get to -40 here at night. But I am confident that I have a last resort option in the foam, because that is giving me 2 inches of foam and plywood between the indoor space and the outdoor cold. I am just trying to get it done so its the least amount of workload on me each day as it is just me. Putting up foam panels each night will be kind of a pain in the arse, but one I am willing to do if need be lol
strength and honor bro! the autos have proved to be far more hardy than I expected. And, yes, a controlled environment will get you there faster with awesome bud. You'll get all the answers as you finish the build and fine tune your systemYeah it has been almost a decade since I grew in dirt and I have never grown outdoors really, not successfully anyway lol. But again I am confident that with my years of experience growing cannabis and formal education I am prepared enough to handle this challenge in all its capacities : )
