So! A little bit of a Segway and some shenanigans!
I've popped a total of 4 SDs, little wing, SD#2 didn't make it in the weird gel stuff and SD#4 didn't break the jiffy!
So SD#3 has outgrown the planter jiffy and I'm now armed with some
@hecno soil samples..
Hopefully I haven't screwed this up!
Hec sent me 5 different soil mixes, for this I chose to use his ''tomato" mix.
I'm a bit of a soil phobic! But here's what I've done!
Hecs soil sample
The Season planter gel mix and hydrotron I experimented with earlier in the thread.
Cheap soil.. and I mean cheap!
The idea is I guess is as Hecs soil is alive it's seeding the mix I've put together, the small rectangular pot I can fit in the tent is now able to drain into the fish tank.. this isn't ideal and it was sealed. I tried the gel stuff to avoid this.
Anyway, a small amount of run off won't hurt the fish or tank environment! But I still wanted to use the Seasol loaded gel, just so I don't need to ad nutes and less run off!
Pics should show the story!
Gel and hydrotron mix (probably to wet and hot!)
Cheap ass soil!
SD#3 ready to go! Anyone got a name? lol
SD#3 outgrew the jiffy plug so I broke one up and mixed in some of the plain gel stuff. It's gone a bit green lol and I think to moist as a viable medium as SD#3s leaves are turned down.. no real science as to if use of this gel would help protect roots in a transplant situation. Will explore that a bit more as I go!
happy SD#3! Hopefully a girl to give me more breeding seeds!
