Anyone have experience with 2 in 1 tents?

Would you recommend a 2 in 1 grow tent?

I considered a 2 n 1 tent but I didn't feel like I like I should have to buy extra things to make sure the two zones don't interfere with each other.

You could a 4x4 tent and put a 2x4 tent right next to it. That's less issues with light leaks and better control of your environment. What your clones and mothers want for strong veg and quick rooting isn't the same environment your flowering plants will want.

My set up is two 4x4s with the left one having 2-4 shelves of lighting. There's enough room in the mother tent for 32 mother plants and 144 clones plus room for me inside. You could do the same with a 2x4 you just couldn't be inside.

For propagation it clones and seeds around 75f is preferred for vigorous rooting and in general for growth.

that video is all about cloning and gives advice for mothers

This is a guaranteed 2+ lbs every cycle if I fill the flowering tent. My flowering tent uses a different set of environmental parameters so I can't realistically see myself letting two different types of growth be right next to each other.

I use a cheap($20) ipower exhaust fan with a humidity controller to keep humidity high and have air exchange in the veg tent and a temp controller tied to a heater because the LEDs don't get warm enough even with all 3 on. I generally only use two so that indirect light hits clones that I'm trying to root. Plus it's cooler at floor level perfect for cloning. There are controllers that do the same in the flowering tent as well.

The exhaust in my flower room was the cheap exhaust as well tied to a carbon filter. My biggest expense was lighting followed by environmental controls+appliances.

Wow you make some really good points! I totally forgot about the environmental differences between vegetation and flowering and propagation. You also have a really sick setup. To be honest that's enough to sell me on the fact that I need to have separate tents. Just sucks because the fans that I use are by AC Infinity and they're pretty expensive LOL. I just can't stand the noise of the cheap fans.

Totally agree! I'm needing to upgrade everything but my wife wants me to start using the garage. I'm conflicted on running sealed rooms or just tents. Whatever I do will cost me more money than she help she's going to give me in setting it up lol.

I like to think about the ergonomics and efficiency of it all. How will I clone? Will I use electricity? Can I do it comfortably? How often do I need to maintain equipment? Fill humidifiers, clean, etc. It's painful to bend down to manage plants for a scrog but there are other ways to achieve yield.

You'll be the one growing so it should be quick, easy, and simple for YOU. if that means a $$$ fully automated system more power to you or a simple hand watering that's fine. but if you're in it for the long run it should be tailored to you and what you understand about cultivating. A lot of research goes into growing plants efficiently and that can be applied at home, getting the botanical/horticultural aspect can be so amazingly helpful. Nutrients, appliances, meters, etc are more readily understood and applied with that extra knowledge

Cool man that's what I was thinking. I'll make sure to post my progress over the next coming months on here as well as .................My username on there is cannabian420.
il keep a eye out for the thread bro by the way i had to remove that link you added its againts out T.O.S to link other platforms no harm no foul ya know for next time goodluck with the set up

this is why afn is a great place you always get different peoples perspectives on things great looking set up dude :headbang:

Light leaks don't concern me that much if I'm running autos and I have no problem with patching pin holes with HVAC tape if need be. What's got me on the fence is that I've yet to read a series of reviews on any 2-in-1 tent that doesn't have at least one person mentioning the fact that the ability to secure the partition between the two sections is not very good. I'm not a fan brand new products that need to be improved upon right out of the box. The best reviews that I've seen have been in regards to Secret Jardin's Lodge Series but even then I'm not so sure about the ability to maintain two different humidity levels. The more I think about it, I really don't think the 2 -in-1 is a good idea for me. Huh, three sentences later and I'm no longer on the fence. That was easy!

I think I'm actually going to go with separate tents but I'll still post it. The main reason being is that I totally forgot different cycles have different environmental needs. Also sorry about posting the link I had no idea it
won't happen again. Anyways, happy growing!

Just incase someone else is considering down the road, I got a 4x3 split tent. A 3x3 section and 1x3. I Would not recommend it at all. The 1x3 just isn't functional at all, and as others have mentioned it's a pain in the ass blocking off the light leaks between them. The upper and lower split in the 1x3 doesn't have the horizontal or vertical room to grow anything. It's ok for seedlings in the upper, but the lower section wont have the room to hang any sort of led without burning your plants. Now I just use that section for some fans and humidifier.

Good to know, thanks for your input.
