Hey everyone, I was just curious if anyone has ever used these "Planter's Pride Fiber Grow" pots. They had some at a local big box store I was at. 6packs of 4.25" coco fiber pots for like 1.50 a pack. I grabbed a couple 6 pks while i was there just in case cause they were uber cheap and they seemed popular as they were nearly out of them and some old lady bought up like 4 pks of them right in front of me. I think I got two of the last 5 or 6 six packs.

They seem like they should, in theory, do what they say with the whole "plant the whole pot and the roots grow through" claim. These are nothing like the typical junk cardboard/peat pots. In the pic below, these look like they are really thick and compressed but trust me when I say...I can actually see through the sides and bottoms of these in a lot of places as they are that porous. I was having an unsolved question in my head the past week or so regarding transplanting my plants down the road into the great outdoors without stressin em (autos). These seem as though they should do the trick... Just wondering if anyone had used em before.

I betcha those would air prune the roots a la air pots. Good find and damn thats cheap.

Oh and if anybody would like to follow my sig and tell me help me out with my soil mix that'd be great! :bong:

Ive ran into issues with it not being soft enough for the roots to breakthrough.Ive never used thsat brand before either, but often when I tried them in the past they would not dry out very well,so be wary of Dampoff n Fungus.I prefer to use rockwool cubes or rootriots.I ve heard wonderous things but rootriots and Ive used rockwol cubes a few times n they work well.I guess maybe unless youll slice the botom off then plant it.might work, never tried it brother.Sorry man, limited intel.

Actually I would all but guarantee they would air prune. As they say the roots wont grow out the pot until its planted. Prolly cause when not planted the egdes of the pot are full of air and light just like airpots. Then when planted the pots are in a dark and moist environment so the roots will grow out. They had 6" too for a lil bit more price (like 2 bucks) but they might have been 4 pks...but im not really sure. Side note I had HEARD of these from time to time in veggie growing forums but never seen them. I think I remember hearing that they deteriorate pretty quick after you start watering (like 2-3 weeks).

These dont seem NEAR that thick dude....here gimme a min i will go take some pics of mine up close to show some porosity detail...gimme 5 mins lol

yeah I didnt know man.Ive used some much cheaper ones in the past n they were waaay too thinck.LOL!heck ya if thse are really thin yu'll prolly be golden then bro. :wiz:

I held these up against a brightly lit white wall for all u guys to see what I was talkin bout. It's prolly just cause they are an inferior brand (i dont truly know that...but would explain the cheap price) as to why they are so thin and porous. They are all like this more or less. Some sparse spots in places but even in the thicker spots you can still see lil holes of light coming through. The middle and right pics are the same pot. Notice how it looks like there is nothing there in the middle pic from all the light coming in the bottom and corner of the pot...but on the outside you cant see in there and u see the fibers ARE there at the corner of the pot.

If you're going to transplant you can always cut the bottom off and you'll be good. I'm off to see whatcha need help with re: soil.

ya bro those look nice n thin no doubt brother.
